"Pressure washing went fine (missed a section). Painting ok but did not prep like promised. Re-caulking was not done. Screw holes left by previous gutters etc. were not filled but just painted over. Contract said 2 coats of paint but only got one (no back roll but was not in contract). No crew but only 1 man (he was fast - painted house and trim in 2 days). House was decent but trim was a bit sloppy (not clean lines, trim paint drops on deck steps etc.). All in all, B- to B."

"Rob (the owner) scheduled an appointment with me for an estimate. We walked around the house and he explained the process plus discussed potential repairs that could need attention. An on-the-spot estimate was provided. Follow up calls were answered promptly and I received help with final paint color selection. The work was done on time and the painters were pleasant, communicative, and left the grounds neat at the end of the day. Agreed upon repairs were made. The quality of the painting job was first-rate."

"Daniel and his crew did an over and above excellent paint job on the exterior of our home. They were thorough, took exceptional care of the surroundings , landscaping , our vegetable garden etc. They also cleaned up our deck furniture and railing and much more when they were done. They were outstanding! I would highly recommend!"

"This company did a great job painting the exterior of my house. The original paint was in bad shape and they took time to properly pressure wash and prep the house before painting. They worked very quickly and were done much faster than I thought they would be. They also did a good job cleaning up the area after they were done. They were very professional and did a great job communicating with me."

"Vadim and his crew love their job and they are great at it. They painted our whole house and deck in 3 days including all prep. They filled all the cracks in the wood and the finished job looks fantastic. It sets our house apart from all others on the street. Competitive price but a bargain for the high quality job they did."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Pressure-treated wood lasts at least 10 years, but with the right care and treatment, it can last as long as 40 years. Painting the boards is one way to increase the lifespan of pressure-treated wood. The layer of paint provides extra protection for the wood against the exterior elements and insects.

Apply a wood stain or sealant to properly maintain a wood deck railing and keep it looking new. Sealants protect wood from moisture and weathering. Regularly inspect the railing for loose screws, damaged balusters, and other signs of wear to make timely repairs. Routinely clean the railing using mild soap, water, and a soft bristle brush.

Ipe wood can last up to 75 years with minimal maintenance because its own oils help to preserve it. However, to get the most out of your Ipe wood deck, you should perform some routine maintenance, including regular cleaning, sweeping of leaves and debris, and rinsing spills with a hose. It’s also important to repair any deep scratches as soon as you spot them and reseal the deck annually to protect against scratches and scuffs.

Whether to brush or roll stain on wood depends on the project and your preference. Brushing is ideal for smaller, intricate areas and offers more control over the application, ensuring thorough coverage and penetration into the wood's grain.

Conversely, rolling is efficient for more extensive, flat surfaces and can save time. However, it is not always the best fit for textured or uneven wood. Some projects may benefit from combining both methods, using a brush for detail work and a roller for broader areas. Ultimately, the choice between brushing and rolling depends on the specific requirements of your staining project.

Various kinds of substances and deck preservatives act as protective coatings for wood to prevent rot, which is caused by water getting into the wood and creating cracks and splits. Stains, paints, and sealants are the three best options to protect your wood, but there are also oils, varnishes, and waxes available. You’ll need to reapply sealant at least once per year, and you should inspect your wood deck regularly to look for signs of damage or general wear and tear.
