"Sam has been serving all of our piano needs for the past 3 years. When we first started piano lessons with our son, we were not sure if we could swing the cost of purchasing a piano. Our piano teacher referred us to Sam at Washington Pianos. Sam helped us pick out a quality used piano for a price we could afford. He delivered the piano to our house with great care and saw that it was tuned. Sam has since been providing regular piano tunings for our family. Sam is always quick to respond, professional, reliable, and takes great care in his work. We have been very happy with his services. I would like to add that Sam has made repairs and regularly tunes my mother's piano. She has been very pleased with his services. She does not use a computer, so I wanted to share her experience as well. Thank you Sam!!"

"We purchased a deal- $200 for 2 movers for 4 hours. It was a good deal, because another moving company told me that $350 was their lowest fee to come out. Prestige Movers contacted me immediately after I purchased the deal and was able to set up a time for them to come out within a week. We had some heavy furniture to move from upstairs to the main level. The two young men who moved our furniture were great! With such heavy furniture, they were cautious not to damage the items and walls, which was greatly appreciated! If needed, I will use this company again."

"I hired Anthony's the Wright Move (from Seattle) to move my household from Orange County California to Seattle Washington. I had several quotes from big moving companies. The big moving companies were very expensive! I also learned that the big companies just hire folks off the street to load and unload trucks. Also, in their paperwork is tricky wording regarding liability for damages to your stuff and they are real loose on exact delivery times. After alot of research I decided that the most economical way to move was to rent trucks myself....hire a moving company to pack and then hire my own drivers. "The Wright Move" was recommended to me by the storage unit manager in Washington. Anthony "The Wright Move" flew down from Seattle to my home in Orange County to give me an estimate and discuss details regarding packing my stuff and driving to Seattle...and then unpacking. So that is what I did. Penski trucks was best price and most reasonable and allowed me to add extra drivers. I bought 4 airline tickets for Anthony's workers and one night (2 rooms) at a local hotel. I also paid for 2 day rental car for them to get from airport to me to hotel etc. All of these costs were still much lower than the big companies. I rented two 26 ft trucks, handcart, blankets and the workers met me at Penski and added their 2 drivers names to the rental list. I took all the insurance offered so everything was completely covered. The workers arrived on time came to my house and we packed for 2 days. then they took the trucks and drove from California to Seattle Washington. I bought Visa gift cards for the drivers to use for gas and food on the drive. The guys were all very nice and I had their phone numbers so I could talk to them during the trip. They were very polite and followed my instructions well. In the meantime I flew up to Washington to wait. They drove straight thru stopping to rest as needed and arrived as planned about 4 days after they left. I met them at the storage unit and they unpacked everything in the pouring rain in one day. As a side note Anthony also pick up several shipments at SeaTac airport that I shipped and took the boxes to my storage unit and loaded them in for me. I felt safe and confident with Anthony and all his workers. He answered every communication immediately and I thought they did an excellent job. I am getting ready to use them again to move me from the storage units into my new home in Seattle. I give "The Wright Move" my highest recommendation!!!"

Piano Moving questions, answered by experts

Planning ahead is essential—this will give you the chance to coordinate your move during weekends or after business hours, and set up essential services in your new office before moving day to minimize downtime. Start by creating a detailed timeline and checklist for every phase of the move, from packing to unpacking. Inform your employees, clients, and vendors about the move well in advance, including any expected disruptions and how you plan to manage them. Delegate responsibilities to ensure all aspects of the move are covered. Lastly, set up the essentials at the new location first to resume operations quickly.

This depends on your specific needs and budget. If you’re looking for the most cost-effective way to ship furniture, a self-moving service that provides pods may be your best option. If cost isn’t an issue and you’re more concerned with the security of your items, you may want to hire a white-glove furniture delivery company with ironclad insurance policies to help.

Yes, moving a piano often causes it to become out of tune, even if you're not moving the piano very far. One reason is that any temperature and humidity changes can affect a piano's tuning. Additionally, the bumps and jolts from a moving truck usually push a piano out of tune.

However, don't jump right to tuning it once the piano gets to your new home. Instead, it's best to wait at least two weeks for the instrument to acclimate to its new environment. After a couple weeks, you'll get an idea of what the piano will really sound like in its new home, at which point you can call a piano technician to get it properly tuned.

Moving companies offer a variety of service packages to suit different needs and budgets during the moving process. They typically provide loading, unloading, and transportation services, using specialized equipment to handle heavy and bulky items. Services can also include packing assistance, where professional packers securely pack belongings to ensure their safety during transportation. Some moving companies also offer temporary storage options, as well as unpacking services upon arrival.

It is best to book a moving company two to three months before your move-out date. This provides enough time to compare rates, organize your belongings, and find an available crew for your desired day and time. While you might find movers with only one or two weeks' notice, some companies require booking up to 90 days in advance.

Planning ahead is especially important if you're moving during the busy summer season when demand is highest. Summer weekends, in particular, book up quickly. Securing your movers well in advance helps you avoid the stress and potential extra fees of last-minute arrangements.
