With years of professional experience, Tub Cove focuses on bathroom remodeling. Products and services include: (1) complete tear-out, wall preparation and installation of new bath and shower surrounds (either seamless laminate or solid surface); (2) plumbing services (install new bathtubs, shower pans and mixing valves; repair/install plumbing fixtures such as toilets, hot water heaters and faucets); (3) install custom manufactured shower bath and shower doors.

"The workmanship throughout the project was inconsistent at best. Examples included: Sloppy drywall mudding that had to be redone. Gaps in trim work that were cut short and nailed in anyway. Caulking that was messy and clearly not watertight. The bathtub being damaged during installation that required repairs before it was even used due to demo work being done around the unprotected bathtub. Missing tile and incorrect estimates that caused delays. The tile work was subbed out and not done to expectations. They had to come back twice to address tile that was installed incorrectly or cracked. On the business side, we also encountered troubling practices. Tub Cove repeatedly pressed us for progress payments even though our contract clearly stated final payment was due upon completion. After we did pay in full, we learned their subcontractor (Alex) had not been paid for our job, despite the funds being in Tub Cove?s possession. This raised serious concerns about their financial management "

While tubs are fairly sturdy, you may notice cracks or holes. This kind of damage can happen from someone accidentally dropping something heavy into the tub. You might also see damage if you drop something heavy into the tub over and over again (like your extra large bottle of body wash). While you might only notice a small dent at first, this can later turn into a crack or a hole.

Also, certain cleaners that are harmful to your tub can cause damage. And if you have a fiberglass tub, you might see cracks if it was not installed properly with the right support.

Most homeowners need to wait at least two days, sometimes three, to use their bathtub following the reglazing process. That’s the normal length of time it takes for epoxy resin to cure. There are quick-dry epoxy kits available that cure in 12 hours, though. To ensure that the epoxy dries properly, try to ventilate the bathroom as well as you can.

If your bathtub is in overall good shape with minor scratches, discoloration, or just general wear and tear, it's best (and less expensive) to refinish it. 

If your tub has large cracks, is leaking, or is otherwise severely damaged, we recommend replacing it with a new bathtub. Refinishing a bathtub can only fix superficial problems, so these issues will still be present or reappear after a refinishing.

When it comes to cleaning bathrooms, bleach usually comes to mind. But like ammonia, bleach can damage acrylic tubs. In fact, many tub manufacturers warn against using bleach on acrylic bathtubs, and doing so could void the warranty on your tub. Again, a gentler cleaner specifically made for acrylic tubs, or one of the homemade methods listed above, is your better bet here.

Two alternatives to reglazing are installing a bathtub inlay or a bathtub liner. An inlay is a low-priced mat that adheres to the bottom of a bathtub or shower. It’s useful for sealing minor leaks and concealing damage on the bottom of a tub. On the other hand, a bathtub liner is essentially a protective casing that goes over the entire tub. They are usually custom-fit and cost more than reglazing yet don’t last as long.
