Fabio and Ricardo were the install team. They removed the existing granite tile counter tops with a minimum of dust and grit. They took great care in the demolition. They installed our under-mount sink carefully and precisely. The finished kitchen is great!
We first touched base with her at the home show quite awhile ago and talked with her about our project. She gave us a bid that was right in the ballpark as the others but we thought she was much more knowledgeable and personable to deal with.
Once we got the project finally going, we picked out a new slab and signed the contract. The crew came out and carefully removed the existing two slabs from the counters....and they didn't break!! This cost us a bit but still saved us thousands over new slabs!
Then came time for install of the new and existing slabs....and one of the existing slabs had to be cut a bit...'deep breath'...but it went fine!!
It's all installed, looks great, bid was right on, no damage, no breakage, no real issues!
We'd go back to Connie and Priceless in a heartbeat!!
They did a great job, and the tear out of the old counter top and installation all took place in one day. They were also able to preserve the tile backsplash on my walls behind the counter tops. The price included tear out, install, 15 year warranted sealant and new 16 gauge single hole stainless steel sink . The company's sales rep worked very closely with us on design and choice of granite. A major advantage of working with Priceless Granite was that we were able to go to their stone yard in Granite Falls and pick out the slab of granite we wanted at a price we could afford. We even had input into the final layout of the template onto the slab.
Two negatives. Timeliness of the installers is one issue we had. The two times they came out they were very late, which made me late for work. The second time they came, they even promised they would be on time.
The second issue was with the overhang. Turns out the layout wasn't stable for the overhang, but we weren't told this during the months of planning, just at the last minute right before the counter install when no changes could be made to our kitchen layout. We were told we needed to install support brackets, which we weren't very comfortable doing and we have been feeling really concerned about damage to the countertop if it's done wrong. And they seemed hesitant to provide guidance (and gave some incorrect information) about purchasing and installing the brackets. I think the company should install brackets if they are a necessary part of the countertop project. Really should be done by a professional given the expense of the countertop if something went wrong.
My general contractor was also really impressed with everything they did, which I think says a lot.
The first installation crew was neither the A or B team. The leader was good, but the two others were not (for example, he had to get them out of the truck to clean up: they were ready to go home long before the job was done). The second team was the A team, but they were just there to install the master bath countertop and try to fix the problem with the granite by the kitchen sink. They did that, as best they could... I also found one of them trying to fix a problem around the cooktop. While he fixed one end, the granite in front of the cooktop still came loose after a couple of months when the other end separated. They were mostly responsive to our issues, all of which should not have happened. The most disturbing part was that they were not interested in any feed back about their installation crews (and quot; They are all excellentand quot;). The first crew was also defended by management for not replacing any wood molding/trim that didn't fit back in after the granite countertops/backsplashes were installed. Priceless claimed that it was our problem because they had either measured wrong or wouldn't do the minimal cuts to retro-fit any wood trim pieces because the granite was bigger than what it had replaced. I understand that things are not going to be exactly the same, but to not plan for that is a basic installation issue that their management claimed was our problem. The second installation crew did nominal cutting of one old trim piece to put it back. I opted to fix the other issue myself given limited options with them....
In other words, their overall grade is more of a C+ and I'm not sure that I would use them again. They have some exceptional people, but too many that aren't....
Positives:
1. Being able to see entire slabs instead of small samples.
2. Communicating via email for lots of the details.
3. Good advice/recommendations for some of the technical problems.
4. They left everything clean and disposed of all materials.
Negatives:
1. One stainless steel kitchen sink was dropped, causing a reorder. The bathroom sink was the wrong size. This ended up taking several days, meaning I had no access to water downstairs during that time.
2. Some of the tear-out caused drywall tearing. Had to hire professional to repair.
3. They left the stove unbalanced, meaning the left side had a gap between the countertop and the stove. Both of the above were called to their attention, but they gave me advice on how to fix instead of fixing.
We would dfinately recommend Priceless Granite and will use them again in our next project.
