Terrible customer service, a waste of time and money. We scheduled to measure for a vanity, very simple and small and the technician was very unprofessional and and inexperienced. I would not recommend this company at all if you don’t want to loose your money and avoid frustration stay away.

We hired Granite & Marble for our kitchen re-do after visiting and getting quotes from two vendors including them. Lowest cost was not our primary criterion, but we wanted good quality work and a responsive vendor. They seemed to have top notch stone cutting technologies and everyone we dealt with was responsive. Ed Watson (I believe an owner) provided an initial estimate right away based upon my measurements, even before we visited their showroom. Once we visited the showroom Glenn helped my wife and myself, answering questions about the various quartz options, looking up approximate costs for third party stone providers. We visited twice in Kent and settled on a quartz that was available from manufacturer LG Haus who had a warehouse in an office park just across the 4 lane road from Granite and Marble (btw, LG Haus makes these in the U.S. though they are a Korean company. LG Haus was very accommodating in letting us see the various quartz stones in their warehouse). Once we selected the quartz & settled on a sink (we selected a 16 gauge stainless double available from Granite & Marble), and bought our new stovetop (from Lowes) and new faucet (chrome finish stainless all-in-one from Kohler), Glenn at G&M provided our final quote. As soon as we had our original stovetop removed (vendor service provided by Lowes), Steve at G&M finalized the contract (50% prepayment) and scheduled the template measurement date and installation date. The template specialist Eugene came to our home on the appointed date where he precisely measured all dimensions and entered them into an electronic template tool. He helpfully answered our questions and also asked our preferences about several details concerning the counter installation. The installation was scheduled about a week after the template measurement, but it ended up being delayed a couple business days because the machinist who was working on the slabs the prior afternoon noticed a scratch on one of the slabs and halted work until it could be replaced by the slab vendor. Our only complaint is that we were not notified of this on the original install date and we had to call them to find out what was going on. Apparently an internal communication failure at G&M caused this, but none-the-less we were glad that they took the initiative to replace the defective slab. The rescheduling was not a great inconvenience for us (because we are usually at home) but might be for someone who has to take time off work on installation day. On the installation date, installers Javier & Javier (father/son) arrived and professionally executed the removal of the old counters and the installation of the new ones, taking appropriate care to ensure that no collateral damage to the existing cabinets occurred. Both of them helpfully answered our questions and also asked us if we had any preferences about relevant installation details. All in all we are very happy about the way the project turned out, and would strongly consider G&M for future work. Our only caution to a prospective client would be to telephone confirm appointments in the morning of the day-of scheduled visits for template and installation work.

The overall result right now as we look at it is fine. The process, however, dragged for many weeks. The most annoying was lack of communication on timeline, and the fact that the price basically more than doubled (from what is advertised) when considering all the additional services we had to have done. The most amazing was the fact that the workers of the last steps did not mind dismantling our electrical outlets but then afterwards basically left live wires sticking out of the walls. We did not know we would have to pay so much in addition for sudden electrical and plumbing services.

We were extremely pleased with our decision to use Granite and Marble Specialties for our kitchen remodel. We had gotten quotes from several different companies for new quartz countertops before finding GMS, and they came in well below all other estimates. Everyone was pleasant to work with - from Millie to the template guy to the installers. We had a weird cabinet-on-top-of-countertop situation that had never been seen before. The owner of the company came out the next day to check it out and make a plan. We were able to go to the warehouse and look at full slabs of quartz to help us make our decision. Being able to see a full slab vs. a tiny square sample was really helpful. They also worked with us to find the best placement for the seam, which is nearly invisible. The installers were professional and efficient. Within three minutes of stepping in the house, they had already started demolishing the existing countertops. Within three hours, the old countertops were removed and the new countertops and sink were installed, caulked, and finished. We love them! We also used GMS to find tile for our backsplash. Again, they came in at an extremely competitive price. We installed the backsplash ourselves, so I can't comment on installation. Granite and Marble Specialties were excellent to work with and I would highly recommend this company. I attached a photo of our "before" kitchen, and two pictures of the "after" where you can see the countertop, sink, and tile.

The whole team was extremely helpful and responsive. Being that it was my first major remodel project I had a lot of questions. Everyone was very responsive and willing to help. I was very impressed with everyone who came on-site to my house and was very happy with the work that was completed. Everything was done in a very timely fashion and if I had anything I wanted fixed or changed they were quick to do so. I would highly recommend Granite & Marble Specialties for countertops, new cabinets as well as backsplash/tile. I'm already asking if they can help on my next project.

Our issue is with the sales person, Connie. Her customer service is terrible, boarding on criminal. We had the option of purchasing the granite from them & being charged by the square foot used or purchasing a slat from a company they recommended. The remnant would be ours. They would hold it for 3 months to provide us time to either use it for another project or find a buyer. After 3 months, if the remnant was still there, they would take ownership. This seemed very reasonable arrangement. Since they did not have the granite we wanted in stock, we purchased the slat. Added plus, it was cheaper than an alternative granite they had in stock & only paying for the sq ft used. We paid the 50% down required with the only open issue being the choice of sink. The following weekend, working with a different sales person, we picked our sink which was a reduction in the bill. We had estimated double the money for the cost of the sink. The day before the the templet person was coming, Connie calls to say I have to pick a sink. I explained we had picked a sink over a week ago & a revised bill was printed & given to us. She should have a copy. She apologized & hung up. The next morning I get a voice message that she failed to charge me extra for being out of area & was adding a double charge, for template & installation trips, to me bill. Prior to speaking to me, she sent a revised bill, via e-mail, with a $200 increase for 1 trip. This charge was removed after reminding her I specifically has asked her were we within her normal service area (as shown on Angie.s list) & she said yes. A week prior to installation, she asked did I want to be involved with laying out the pattern for the slab, to capture a special aspect of the granite. I said no & again made mention that I had plans for the remnant. The day prior to installation, Connie called and said that the remnant would be delivered with the installers. I was very surprised & reminded her of my prior conversation about them holding it & that I had a friend who was interested. Her response was, "You do realized that the granite is 25 pounds a sq ft." As with the template, the workers were very nice & did a wonderful job. On Monday, 3/7 I received a call from Connie. I expressed my happiness with the granite & installation. When I asked her how much granite remained, she said "None, you purchased by the sq ft.". I reminded her that we had purchased the slab. She said she would get back to me & hung up. On Wednesday, 3/9 she called back with an explanation that made no sense! She was touting that they only had to use one slab to complete the kitchen & didn't have to use the second! What second? She started saying something about that they must have sent 2 slabs. Of course I asked was I charged for 2, she said no & the bill shows one. Again, this does not address the question on the remaining granite. She claims that due to the "special" angles of my countertops, there was a lot of waste. My countertop has 3 pieces, the larges has a 90 degree dog leg & the others are rectangles. Add the 4" back splash & 3 window sills, their total sq ft used was less than 50. The total sq ft of the slat was over 70 sq ft. So, almost 1/3 of the granite was scrap? And if there was no remnent, what was the March 4th conversation about? This issue is still pending. My husband will be contacting the company to discuss. Even if this comes to some resolutions, it does not change the total lack of professional behavior by Connie.

We purchased 66 ft of exotic looking Alpine White Granite. It was a unique piece and we received many compliments. The installation did not go well to put it mildly. The templater only would cut to what was "standard". I wanted one edge to stick out more than standard he didn't do it. There were language barriers, he barely spoke English and called me by my name in Spanish. I'm not Hispanic, so it's not like he would assume I knew Spanish.. Sink coutout was cut crooked, holes were crooked. They broke the tipout in front of the sink and didn't put enough glue on the desktop and the plywood base and it came undone. Installers walked in an open door and did not say a word to me. They did talk to the Kitchen Installer. I thought it was rude and they did not check to see if the holes for the faucet were the correct size before cutting. The kitchen cabinet installer fixed the desktop and the tipout which is NOT his job. I complained about the sink cutout and they sent Kurt over to take a look. His resolution was not to my satisfaction all his solution involved ripping the granite off the cabinets. Which given the intiial install would result in damage to the cabinets. I asked for a the cost of the sink cutout as compensation but he would refund less than half of the amount. If you have anything that is not standard you will have your countertop cut wrong with this company. Beautiful material, horrible installation.
Description of Work: Install granite countertop, desk, and sink cutout. The layout was beautiful and flowed across the sink, backsplash and breakfast bar in one continuous pattern. The sink cutout template and countertop was cut wrong., hole in the desk for cords was cut crooked. They broke the sink tipout, the desk granite was not properly glued to the base.
