Smith Brothers is a small company, big on service. We offer direct to customer service or we work as a sub contractor for general contractors.

"I recently had the pleasure of working with Smith Brothers Plumbing in Spokane, and I couldn't be more satisfied with their service. With over 40 years of experience, the owner, Tracy, brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to every job. Despite their extensive experience, their pricing remains very fair, which is a rare find these days. They are incredibly clean, leaving no mess behind, and are both knowledgeable and efficient in their work. Their ability to solve problems was excellent due to their many years of seasoned experience, and I felt that what was offered was above and beyond the typical service provided by a plumber. I highly recommend them."

Capstone has a staff of 50+ employees. We are locally owned and have been in business since 1990. We are preferred providers with several insurance companies due to our reputation and reliable service. Our goal is complete customer satisfaction and quality workmanship.

"Capstone Construction is still practicing this: I left negative reviews online, on my FB, on Google etc. They sent a letter to us threatening to charge us a $100.00 a day if we and our friends do not delete the negative reviews. They stated it was on their contract that we signed. It was during an emergency, our basement was flooded. We called Capstone and as I had the phone on speaker, I asked what the cost would be if they came to pump the water out. I was told since its after hours, it would be $90.00 an hour. When they arrived there was 18 inches of water in our basement. Before they got started they handed my husband the contract. My husband quickly signed it so that they would begin pumping the water out. On the back page, it was in their contract that negative reviews would cost $100.00 a day, added to our bill. They over charged us approx. 3x the cost quoted, and they blatantly lied on their response to the Attorney General. This company is dirty, they have intimidated consumers not to write poor reviews. It is apparent that this is their regular practice, if a company did good, fair, honest work, they wouldn't have to put that clause on the back of their contract...I do not recommend them, the flood and loss was bad enough, then we find out we hired a crooked unethical company that will, intimidate, lie and cheat the consumer."

"Horrific!!! A 2 week job turned into over a year- and my children and I being hospitalized for the environmental damage to my home and ER Doctor had us immediately move out and into a rental. Bob Covington and Dave Franco are horrible people who will not perform the work they say they are and will put a lien on your home without doing thier work. No project management, completely incompetent just want to steal your money. They make promises they will never keep because they close the business before you can get your job finished. They are complete frauds and liars. Stay away from them!!! They will end up costing you over $200,000 dollars in damages!!! And people!!"

Home Building questions, answered by experts

Yes, most general contractors require a down payment for project completion. A reasonable down payment for a contractor is 10% to 25% of the total project cost, though that will vary based on project size and location. The down payment helps cover the upfront costs of materials and permits and helps ensure payment for the project at hand.

A carriage house combines garage or storage space with living space, usually in two stories, while a garage generally does not offer any living space. Carriage houses are built with plumbing, insulation, and heating and cooling systems, which are usually features not found in traditional garages. Building codes and insurance requirements greatly differ between the two types of structures, and may make it difficult to convert a garage to a carriage house.

Complex plumbing is tricky and expensive in an off-the-ground dwelling like this. By considering options like composting toilets, rainwater collection, and gray-water sinks, you save money and help the environment.

Yes, there are a few different ways you can finance new construction. Some lenders offer new construction loans that cover the building costs and then convert to a standard mortgage once construction is complete. Some custom homebuilders also offer financing options that only require a down payment before you begin the building process. Construction loans are possible, as well, although they typically only cover the building process, and you’ll need to pay in full once the house is completed.

Local regulations dictate how big an ADU can be, and there may also be restrictions on the percentage of the main residence’s square footage an ADU can have. In most cases, an ADU must be smaller than the main residence, but check with your local building authority to confirm restrictions on ADU size.
