Super Service Award wining company on Angie's List. Archstone Masonry was founded by Jerrod Rhynalds in 2001, shortly after he took two first place victory’s in state and regional masonry contests. If you’re looking for a high quality masonry contractor, you’ve come to the right place. We at Archstone Masonry strive to be one of the best masonry contractors in the northwest. We employ some of the best stone and brick masons to make sure your project exceeds your expectations. We continue to be highly rated on Angie’s List since joining in 2011 and strive for customer satisfaction. Let us help you design/Install your next masonry project.

"Jerrod the owner of Archstone was emphatic to point out that he is one of the best if not the best and a very conscientious and honest man. He said the mortar on exterior house wall is very hard and can't be ground out. Per his expert advise the best things is pressure wash and scrape out loose and damaged mortar and use sponging technique to fill in cavities with type S mortar. I understood and agreed asking for care with pressure washer. Quote was $2922 before tax. He said the wall wouldn't look much better than it does now but he would get all the places having egregious deterioration and then seal. Two days work. Moving forward his team (him and a 18 year old nephew) came and went in less than 4 hours. Sealant remained to be done and I could see that cost was itemized at $400. I personally could do it in 1/2 hour so I asked him to scratch it from the price. He was very amenable to that. The issue arose when I was sealing I found and sent him photos of spots with severe erosion that were missed and should take about 1 hour to fix. Some on wall, one in bottom corner of house, one big seam in windowsill. I sent email and photos asking for him to return. He didn't reply. 1 week later I reached him by phone and he said he didn't get the email/or hadn't read it yet but he wasn't going to come back for 'pinholes' which I could do myself. First of all I could do everything myself but that's time that I paid him for. He is too busy to come. Photos are from the south wall as discussed."

"I contracted Topside Roofing and Siding for a major, full re-roofing project in late January/early February 2023. My initial experience of them was that they were certainly the most expensive bid, but had the best quality assurance, responsiveness, and expertise about the issues I was having with my roof. The roof replacement was certainly professional, expedient, and clearly improved all issues that had plagued my roof prior to their work. For that quality of work, I would have given them full marks. However... Following the completion of the work, there have been several issues that have arisen: First, multiple types of debris (a sharp cut metal piece that my dog began to eat before my wife took it and sliced her knee, dozens of rusty roofing nails, dozens of pieces of plastic from roofing material) were left after the job was finished, in spite of the signed contract indicating they would clean up all materials. When called for the cut piece of metal, they denied it was theirs; it perfectly matched the metal used on the roof... Even after they responded and came back to do more clean up for the nails/plastic, there was still debris remaining around the perimeter of my house. Second, and more importantly, approximately two weeks after completion of the project, my hot water heater ceased functioning showing an indicator for an obtrusion in the venting. The company that installed my hot water heater did a service call, pulled out the debris blocking the venting, which turned out to be old roofing material. When the job was in progress I remembered one of the crew members using a leaf blower to remove excess material from the roof; I also noticed they had not put any type of plastic over the venting to ensure nothing was forcibly blown into it. When I called Top Side to address this issue, it took nearly 6 weeks of intermittent and dismissive communication to actually have this issue addressed. When Duane, a manager, spoke to the owner, Phil, the verdict was that, from the photos, it looked like "bugs" had gotten into my venting. When I assured them that the service company and myself had seen the material and it was certainly roofing material (which is evident from the photos, again, Top Side roofing denied it was their responsibility. Had it just been the quality of the job, I would have happily recommended this company to anyone who asked. Based on the above issues, I highly recommend that you avoid Top Side Roofing if you hope to contract company that maintains contractual obligations and provides adequate customer service should the need arise."

Chimney Repair questions, answered by experts

Repairs involve cleaning surfaces, applying sealants or patching holes, replacing damaged sections, or tightening loose fasteners to restore integrity.

Yes, most standard policies include storm damage repairs. Your policy may cover some or all of the repairs. The first thing to do after a storm is contact your home insurance agent. If you get any work done before the adjuster arrives, such as covering holes in your roof or windows, keep those receipts for reimbursement.

Regular cleaning, inspecting for peeling or rust, and reapplying coatings every 8-12 years helps maintain durability.

Hail damage to a roof looks different depending on the type of roof. On asphalt roofs, you’ll likely see dark circles on the impact sites of the larger pieces of hail, and you may see small cracks in the surrounding shingles. Hail damage is easiest to spot on a metal roof, as you’ll notice dings and dents where the hail was severe enough to cause damage. Whether you notice signs of hail damage or not, it’s best to have a hail damage repair company inspect your roof after a major storm to assess the damage.

Copper roof strips can last for 20 to 30 years or more if properly installed—in many cases, they may outlast your roof. Inspect your roof annually to ensure copper roof strips remain properly adhered and undamaged, and repair any loose or lifted strips. With very little upkeep, copper roof strips can protect your roof for decades to come.
