"Jeremy and his staff are superior. The kitchen backsplash he installed for us turned out beautifully. He is precise and very particular, which is what we wanted. When my husband mistakenly approved the way the grouting was done (It still looked perfect, I just wanted the grout at a 45 degree angle on the tile edge) while I was away, Jeremy didn't hesitate to come back to make the grout the way I'd wanted it. He's honest and tells you what looks good and what doesn't. Integrity and reliability is a big thing to us. Thank you, Jeremy!"

"Eric was great to work with and was a wealth of knowledge. He did phenomenal work on laying the tile and overcame each of the challenges I laid before him. Great eye for detail and is focused on giving the homeowner a high quality product."

"Yes, the job was well done and on time. We had a problem with the tile and grout in our walk-in shower. He explained what the problems were with the original installation and then cleaned the tile and replaced the grout. He also installed shower bars which will help us from falling in the shower. We highly recommend this gentleman."

"Brain is a very trustworthy professional. He and his crew showed up when they said they would and returned all my calls. The installer, Alex, that did our large format porcelain tiles (24X24 & 18x48) did impeccable work. He was a total perfectionist and artist, he created the niche that I wanted in my shower in a very creative way. Brian sent his crew back to do finish up cleaning and small grout lines that were missed after I paid him! I hardly recommend Diamond Tile."

"Initially all was well. They showed up on time. The installers did not read the directions nor test the tub before they installed it. I had ordered a special drain kit that the manufacturer suggested for this tub but they didn't use it. When I came home and saw the drain kit I ordered sitting there and the tub installed I didn't know what to think. They were not responsive about why it wasn't used, I had to call several times. Also, the tub was NOT working after they left. I was told it was plugged in and working but it wasn't. Fortunately a neighbor came over and after some investigation we discovered the outlet for the whirlpool tub plugs was not "hot" nor was the tub plugged in. They had said it was working when clearly it was not. The communication was very poor. I also asked for an estimate to fix an outdoor faucet and never received it."

"It was rangehood installation. Mike came prior to inspect the project, took time to understand the work and on scheduled time turned to do actual installation. Was meticulous in installation ensuring that alignment, sealing everything is proper. Showed no signs of hurry or quality tradeoff. Charged reasonable."

"Auland did a super job at a very reasonable price!!! In addition to replacing a rusted-out bathtub drain, he also replaced a burned-out outlet and installed my doorbell. Super happy with his work! I will be calling again!"

"Amazing experience with Tile2 from start to finish on our kitchen backsplash, The communication and execution were both 10/10. We are so impressed with the job they did, and would hire them again for any future tile needs. We've done a lot of work on our house and this was by far the best experience we've had. Would definitely recommend Tile2!"

"They did an amazing job installing a toilet and vanity with a very quick turnaround. They were even able to adjust the vanity when we purchased one a bit two tall. Very much recommend to anyone in need of a team that can do it all!"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

When working on your bathroom floor tiling, you should always tile the floor first and then refit the toilet afterward. This has both practical and visual advantages—the tile will have a better seal, and the installation will look cleaner.

On the other hand, when you try to cut the tiles to fit around the toilet, you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage. It’s a lot more work, it’s hard to be precise, and mistakes or miscalculations can lead to future moisture damage to the tiling, grout, and subfloor.

To make a bathroom look bigger, choose light-colored, medium- to large-format tiles. Light colors such as white, cream, or light gray make a space feel more open, while dark colors, busy patterns, and small tiles can make a bathroom feel smaller. It may seem counterintuitive, but small tiles can shrink a room visually due to the increased number of grout lines. Using medium- to large-format tiles creates a more seamless look. For the best effect, pair your light-colored tiles with a matching or similarly colored grout. This minimizes the grid-like pattern and gives the floor and walls a more continuous, uninterrupted appearance, helping the room feel significantly larger.

When considering the types of grout for your project, unsanded grout is the best choice for penny tile. Unsanded grout can fit better into narrow spaces, like those between the small penny tiles, and it’s easier to smooth out for a seamless finish. However, if you’re unsure, check with a tile installation pro to determine which grout is best for your specific project.

The best paints for shower tiles include epoxy, latex, or acrylic. Ideally, you should look for paints that are waterproof and mildew-resistant if you plan to paint shower or other bathroom tiles. You can even find waterproof paints made specifically for tiled surfaces, which will be the best option for shower tile paint that lasts as long as possible.

Yes, but you’ll have to use some other type of tool to avoid damaging the tile and possibly injuring yourself. Some alternatives to tile cutters include a glass cutter, angle grinder, and wet saw. Depending on the tile material, you might simply be able to measure and score it with something sharp, like a carbide-tipped pencil, and break it off. Be sure to sand the edge for a smooth installation.
