"Jose and his crew provided us with excellent work refinishing and staining our oak hardwood floors in our 1950s home. Firstly, Jose was prompt to respond to us and setup an appointment for a quote. There was additional work around the house that his team could have tackled, and he shared his thoughts on this, but there was zero pressure to go beyond our original project scope. Jose then provided a clear written estimate via email (giving us plenty of space and time to decide) before we gave the go ahead to get started. We also felt fortunate that Jose's team was flexible to get started ASAP on our project, so our turnaround time felt lightening fast! When the work did begin, the crew showed up right on time each morning over the next three days with Jose present to communicate with us. The team was also respectful of COVID protocol and to my fiance and myself (plus our pets!) being WFH while they were working in the home. We felt informed during the entire process, that all next steps were clear, and that we were working with a top-notch, professional team. "I can’t recommend Clint and Footprint Floors any higher. We were feeling a little stressed with getting our tile kitchen floor installed and Clint made the whole process easy, and stress free. The work was done quickly and we were treated professionally. The provider seems to have a very deep breadth of knowledge about this work and educated us along the way. We were ecstatic about the relationship and his can-do attitude (finding the same size wood/type was a chore).

The initial work looked spectacular -- dare I say perfect? And had I given this review immediately afterward, would have rated it as high as possible. However, spaces began to appear between the slats of the wood. This is most likely due to the wood not being fully dry before installation and it shrinking a bit -- something he specifically called out as a precaution he takes.

At the end of the day the floor does not look very good because of the little gaps here and there, even to a casual observer.

We had another company replace some wood in our downstairs as part of an insurance claim (flooding), which required new wood and refinishing the entire floor. After 3 years there is not the slightest hint of a gap between those boards. So in comparison, the work done via this Angie's List deal was pretty sub-par.

Why do I grade this Fair/3 stars? Because of everything else that went into getting the work done. I have a feeling this was a fluke -- that the wood was more moist than is normal -- and that even waiting the extra time we did for it to dry wasn't enough.

"Prompt communication thru four full day work, very knowledgeable, and reasonable price. Work quality is good, but some areas look slightly uneven in the refinished area. The color seems noticeably lighter than the rest of kitchen cupboard and the mismatch is obvious. A couple things to note: 1) Some stain drops were splattered over the edge of every stair steps to the garage, when I tried to clean, it's got worse and left big stained areas. 2) For one day when we came back, one downstair toilet was plugged with poop and another one on second floor was with urine around. It was disgusting to clean up the toilets. On the second day, the master bedroom toilet was used despite the master room door was CLOSED and the toilet was left UNFLUSHED with poop. 3) On the final day he asked around $200 more than the estimate he had provided due to hardwood floor price change. He presented the invoice of the hardwood floor material purchased but I feel that he should have checked the price"
