"We had a foot of water in our crawl space after the snow and 6 in. of rain from the December 2021 storms. I had called several companies to come out to take a look and give quotes. Ethan from diversified was the 3rd quote we received. Ethan explained the issue, explained what they would do to remedy it, and answered all my questions. He sent me the quote which was very resonable. BE SURE TO GET SEVERAL QUOTES. ONE COMPANY QUOTED US DOUBLE OF WHAT WE PAID DIVERSIFIED. They were able to get a team out two days later. The team was on time, professional, and did really good work. We ended up needing a sump pump due to ground water coming up. They applied a mold application and completed the work in a day. I highly recommend these guys and did my research prior to having them do the work. I am very impressed and happy we chose them."

French Drains questions, answered by experts

Yes, drains are one common entry point for water bugs. However, water bugs may enter your home through various locations including doors, windows, pipes, and vents. Water bugs are drawn to the dark and moist atmosphere drains provide, and can easily find their way into your home through sewer drain pipes. You can stop water bugs from entering through drains by regularly cleaning your drains and repairing faulty drainage systems.

Yes, you can pour water down the toilet to help it flush. For each flush, you’ll need 1 to 2 gallons of water for newer toilets or 3 to 5 gallons of water for older toilets. Rather than dumping the entire bucket in all at once, pour the water in slowly for the best results. If you’re pouring water down the toilet to help it flush after a clog, only use 1 gallon of hot water.

Inspect regularly for clogs, clean drain lines, and ensure grading directs water away from the foundation.

A bit of water in the bowl can help unclog a toilet, especially if you're using a plunger. However, if the bowl is full to the brim, you'll need to strap on gloves and remove some of the wastewater in a cup or container so it doesn't overflow when you try to unblock the pipe. If you're concerned about it filling further, manually close the flapper in the toilet tank or turn off the water supply to the toilet.

Bleach isn’t likely to help unclog a sewer line. Bleach isn’t useful in this situation because it won’t dissolve the grime and debris in the clog. Instead, you want to use ingredients that will have a chemical reaction to clear out the buildup, like vinegar or salt and baking soda.
