"Outstanding Experience with Roads Paving! We recently had Roads Paving install a new asphalt driveway, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. The crew was professional, friendly, and extremely detail-oriented from start to finish. Their equipment was modern and well-maintained, which showed in the smooth and high-quality finish of the driveway. The team took the time to explain each step of the process and made sure everything was completed to perfection. It’s clear they take pride in their work. Highly recommend Roads Paving to anyone looking for quality workmanship and great service!"

"Outstanding company. Not cheap but they are totally worth it. They did beautiful winding path in our front yard 4/2019 and just completed a 70 foot long path and stairs in our back yard. Manuel was the lead guy and Holly was the sales lady. Their customer service is the best that I've encountered. They are very keen on pleasing the customer. Manuel obviously takes a lot of pride in his work. Once they start working they come every day M-F and work hard for about 8 hours. No annoying long pauses while they start another project. "Excellent customer service from start to completion on having our new deck built. Dan gave a great first estimate saving us money with top quality materials. Peter, the owner, assisted initially and was friendly and professional helping us through the permit process. The on-site Supervisor Daniel, for the deck construction, is very friendly and helpful. The crew, Joel and Curtis, are also friendly and helpful working hard and steady through the completion of deck. Finally, Ben, the other Owner, is very professional, friendly, and easy to work with. A couple minor issues needed repair at completion of job and he fixed them great quickly. We love our new deck!!! Thanks Sta-Built!!!"

"I have never seen such a great company before. They transformed my whole back garden. It was exceptional work and our garden is unrecognizable, idyllic in comparison with the way it was before. I can not recommend this company more highly! If there were infinite starts available this company would get them. I am very very pleased!"

"This was the absolute best experience with a contractor I have had in the seven years years of owning my my home here in Kenmore. Thomas was not only knowledgeable but conscious of what my choices were and was willing to offer fixes that were not the most expensive but the most effective. His crew was right on time worked diligently all day and cleaned up before they left. I only wish there business did more things I would hire them in a second. I would absolutely recommend this company. Thanks you !!"

Customers say: Quick response

"We hired Frank and his crew to do a paved walkway and a patio in our backyard. I must say we are very pleased with the end result. They delivered exactly what was promised, on-time and on budget. During the process, they allowed us to make some small tweaks without jacking up the price. They were very meticulous in their work and always made sure everything was finished to our full satisfaction. It's been a real pleasure to work with these guys. Great attitude, very easy to communicate with. I would totally hire them again. I highly recommend Allscapes NW based on my experience."

Paving Services FAQs, answered by experts

Driveway pavers are often worth the cost. Paver types like cobblestone, brick, and concrete are highly durable, and permeable paver options can be tremendously eco-friendly. While you may pay more for a paver driveway, you’ll see great returns from the increased curb appeal and low maintenance compared to other types of driveways.

The most common causes of sunken pavers are poor base preparation and insufficient compaction. The problem could also be how your pavers were installed. If the soil beneath your patio or walkway wasn't compacted, it will pull pavers down as it settles. Additionally, using bare soil instead of making a paver bed with compacted gravel and sand can cause sinking over time. To fix sunken pavers, consider recompacting the base and addressing any drainage or erosion issues in the area.

Gravel is the cheapest way to extend a driveway. Gravel is an affordable, practical option that’s easy to install and perfect for DIY projects, helping you save on labor costs. It can be quickly spread and leveled to create extra driveway space without heavy preparation. While gravel doesn’t offer the same durability or finished look as concrete or asphalt, its low cost makes it ideal for budget-conscious homeowners who want a functional solution without overspending.

In most cases, you don’t need a permit to repave your driveway, although some exceptions exist. If you’re widening your driveway and plan on widening the apron as well, you’ll usually need a permit from the Department of Transportation in your area. This permit costs between $50 and $300 in most cases. Most municipalities will also require a certified and insured contractor do the work relating to the apron and curb cut. You can contact your building department or ask your paving company if you need a permit. Your driveway professional will usually pull the permit for you.

Professional installers often include a deep layer of crushed gravel under permeable pavers to allow more runoff to soak through into the soil below. Many installations will include multiple layers of gravel, with coarser aggregate at the base and finer aggregate that sits on top of that bottom layer. Above the gravel, you’ll often find coarse sand that helps reduce paver shifting over time. Some permeable paver designs include a water collection system set into the gravel layer to route runoff to a safe area for disposal.
