"My roof & gutters hadn't been cleaned for well over a year & I live beneath huge pine trees, fir trees, a variety of willows, a towering maple & bushes that have overgrown the eaves. There was thick moss on the composite shingles & little trees growing out of the packed gutters. I found these guys on Angie's list, he came over on the same day I called, we did a walk around the house & he was able to schedule the job in only 2 days. They went way above & beyond my expectations doing a very thorough job, even cut my trees & bushes way back then power-washed around the entire house including the deck & driveways & disposed of the debris. It took the better part of a day (he didn't rush to get it done) & the charges were way more than reasonable (and didn't collect until he knew I was satisfied). I really recommend them & will certainly be using them again in the future"

"This is where they made the yard waste containers too heavy even for m to get out to the curb. The yard waste people did not want to pick up the cans because they were too heavy. We ended up using 8 hours even though the deal was for four hours so I paid extra."

"It is not my day job, but I have built several homes and know that I spend a good chunk of my concern and budget on the earth work. It is why I researched and interviewed so many before deciding on Erik from Dirt Pros and that time and energy paid off! It wasn't an easy job... sadly it proved to be unbelievably difficult because the geotech gave us an erroneous report on what kind of soil we could expect below--as soon as we started digging Erik threw up the caution flag. The hillside started sluffing with million dollar homes above! The geotech said oops, sorry and said he'd need a week or so to fix his mistake. Erik realizing the danger I was in immediately set out to shore up the hillside and I am grateful everyday for his knowledge and expertise. You don't think about how things can go sideways when you open up the earth, but on this project it did-- Erik saved my bacon.  Once we got back on stable ground so to speak, things went really well.  Several times along the project Erik and his crew went above and beyond for me. For instance, the concrete truck pulled out of our lot and had mud all over the street, it could have cost me a fine but Erik cleaned it up and asked me to remind the other subs to keep the inspectors happy by not doing that sort of thing. For me, trust is really big-- I run into so many slimy guys in this business-- I trust Erik, everything he said accurate and while several contractors tried to pull one over on me-- he would never try-- he would never think of it.  I want to think of something to be critical of, but I'm not coming up with anything.  Oh, I have something, one of my neighbors is a pain in the butt-- I would have loved to be a pain in her neck, but even she loved Dirt Pros--and collectively my neighbors were a tough crowd to please during construction!
He made sure the drainage surpassed what was needed, every block was straight and level, every rock placed perfectly, he offered suggestions I loved and every date he gave me- he hit or was ahead of schedule! Ahhh if only all the subs I hired were like Erik! After I used him for one home, I hired him for the next house I built-- and will again for a 3rd home that is in the planning stages now. I search a long time for subs like Dirt Pros and I am grateful when I do... now having said that, I still bid out the second project to other subs, but ended up hiring him because his price was the best and he included more, or things others weren't-- or worse knew needed to be done and didn't bring up.. For anyone who is in search of excellence, I suggest you hire Dirt Pros for your project."

Garbage Collection questions, answered by experts

The main issue with garbage disposals is clogging. This can mean a clogging of the pipes that expel the food along with water, or a clogging of the mechanical parts themselves. The problem lies in the solution because you can’t easily see clogs if they’re inside the system, and reaching in to dislodge stuck items is a risky proposal. Call a pro and ask what they would do, but if you can’t see the clog easily, and running the unit won’t free it, you need to let a professional handle the fix.

The two main negatives of garbage disposals are they are a safety hazard in homes with children, and they frequently encounter blockage issues. While they might be annoying to fix and monitor, garbage disposals can significantly lower your trash use and are a great way to dispose of organic waste. While there are negatives, the vast majority of homeowners acknowledge the positives are enough to install a disposal in their home.

While unplugging your garbage disposal and plugging it back in may help, most units have an actual reset button, a bright red switch found on the underside of your unit. If your garbage disposal needs resetting, you may notice this button sticking out about a quarter of an inch from the surface of the unit, with which it’s usually flush. Simply depress this reset button to reset the unit, and then test to ensure it’s working about 10 minutes later.

There are many maintenance and repair issues that lead to a malfunctioning garbage disposal. Regular clogs place wear and tear on the motors, leading to an eventual shutdown. Electrical issues at the breaker, wall outlet, or disposal itself can fry the unit. The most common cause is simply a worn-down motor. These motors can only handle so much use before powering down for good.

If the cost of repairing a leaking garbage disposal is close to the cost of replacing the disposal, then fixing the unit might not make sense. When deciding if you should repair or replace your garbage disposal, consider the age of your garbage disposal, the cost of the repair, and whether your garbage disposal has had other problems recently to help you decide if the cost of repairing the leak is better than the cost of replacing the disposal.
