service, residential, commercial,we take visa and master cards.

"Bought a new house. They were the plumbing contractors. Their workmanship is horrible. We have low flow in the house as well as the outside spiket. Chuck, the owner has come out several times but without tools or to do anything! He always has a sob story as to why he can't do any work--not feeling well, employee hurt, employee stole his van/equipment etc. He stopped answering our calls and will not contact us. He just left us with a mess and the builder is not helping either. We have a house that Is valued at $700,000 that spits out water. The flow is so bad that you can't hook up an outside sprinkler to water the lawn or washing your car is like using a straw to rinse. I would not recommend this company for ANY plumbing needs. L and I also shows he has been fined in the past for using unlicensed employees for plumbing work."

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

It’s not a good idea to oversize your water softener. Doing so will mean the tank doesn’t get full, which can lead to channeling. This leads to a large portion of the resin beads not being utilized and the beads at the bottom of the tank being overused. Over time, this will reduce the efficiency of your system, not to mention that the upfront cost of an oversized softener is unnecessarily high. If you have a timed regeneration cycle rather than a demand-based one, you’ll also spend far more on replacing salt than you need to.

Most experts agree there’s not much difference health-wise between hard water versus soft water. That said, hard water is more likely to cause skin dryness and issues that go along with it, like an itchy or flaky scalp. Hard water can also decrease the life span of your household appliances and make it more difficult for soap to do its job.

The license requirements for water softener installation depend on your location. Some municipalities require that the installer hold a plumbing license, some require a permit and an inspection, but no license for the installer, and some require a permit and a license for the installer. Regardless of the local laws in your area, it’s always a good idea to hire a licensed plumber or installer. These pros will install your system properly and have the experience to size the system appropriately. Use Angi’s state licensing tool to check your installer’s license status.

Most of the U.S. has hard water, especially across portions of the West and Midwest. The areas with the hardest water include parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Illinois, North and South Dakota, Ohio, and New York. You’ll find soft water in parts of New England, the Southeast, the Pacific Northwest, and Hawaii.

Whether or not your water softener installation requires a permit depends on where you live; some municipalities only let certified plumbers and electricians pull the necessary permits and complete the work, others only require a professional to sign off on the work, and some don’t mandate permits at all. You can contact your local building department to find out, but you can also ask a local water softener installer or plumber to see if a permit is necessary. They will usually pull the permits for you and can help close them out after the work is complete.
