"How did it go? Excellent! Jamie, the owner, was quick to respond to any and all inquires. Easy to reach, easy to get a hold of, both by e-mail and text. His team chief, Bob, clearly had years of experience! They were scheduled for 9 am and at 9 am, I looked outside to see the truck parked outside! Bob's experience came in handy when there were issues getting my sliding glass door into place, due to my residence being roughly 50 years old; which still had the the original, single pane, metal frame windows & slider door. If there were any issues with the same old type of windows which were replaced, I didn't know it because everything went so smoothly. Bob knew exactly how to quickly fix any issues, and his entire crew ran like a well oiled machine. The crew were extremely efficient. plus they went above and beyond; making sure the window glass and frames were cleaned and they vacuumed up the little bits of debris created when taking out the old metal framed windows and they took the old windows/door with them when they left for safe disposal. All the while never complaining about the pouring down rain! I would highly recommend this company, in short, for the excellent install , clean up and very fair pricing."

Customers say: Super punctual

"I had called and left a message about my door issues on a Saturday and he returned my call Sunday morning.  He apologized for not calling sooner but he had been on vacation in an area with poor cell coverage.  He suggested that he come by my house that same afternoor (on a Sunday!) and see what he could do with the door.  He did come by as agreed and got the door moved to the garage and out of the casing in a position where I could paint it.  Because I had never painted anything other than a wall or ceiling, I asked if he could come back and paint it for me.  He agreed and we set a date for the following Wednesday.  Jack is a perfectionist and the door that he painted looks wonderful and he installed it, overcoming some issues with the fit of a new door in an old house.  He also suggested painting the oval around the door window a contrasting color which matched my other window casings and it was a great idea.  It looks much better than the solid color I had planned.
Jack installed my lighting in early August and he and his helper were very careful of my belongings and touched up ceiling paint and cleaned up after themselves beautifully.  They moved or worked around furniture without me having to move things around.  Again, a great job at a reasonable price.  Because the new chandaliers cast a bright light, he offered to pick up some dimmers to install when he came to do a future job for me.  That was a wonderful courtesy above and beyond my expectations.
Jack also installed crown molding in my entry, dining room, living room and hallway.  He picked up the materials ahead of time and painted them himself before the installation day which was a service he offered to me and I quickly accepted.  He also suggested an improvement on the entry wall which had an opening at the top.  He installed a board across the top with molding along the sides with beautifully mitered ends. This added archetectural interest to the entryway that I would not have thought of.  It looks elegant!   He also suggested corner pieces for all inside corners which gives the rooms a very finished and polished look.  He always stops and asks for my input when there is more than one way to do things.  For example, where the wall ends at the dining room and leaves an exposed edge wrapping around to a cathedral ceiling in the family room, he asked my opinion on how far to extend the molding around the edge to look most polished.  The job was not an easy one because I have 'popcorn' ceilings' and I expected to have to do a lot of paint touch up where the molding hits the celiling but they did a meticulous job of filling in and I didn't have to get the paint can out.  Again, they cleaned up the area with a vacumn and left it scrupulously tidy.
I plan to approach Jack first before embarking on any future jobs around the house.  He will be my first choice for most any work I plan to do in the future.

Windows questions, answered by experts

Removing a window isn’t a very long process. Depending on several factors, it can take anywhere from 20 minutes to upwards of an hour. The size of the window greatly impacts the time it takes to replace it. Accessibility is another big component. If it’s hard to reach the window or reaching it is dangerous, anticipate it taking longer.

Lastly, if the old window is in poor condition, it could take longer to remove it safely—especially if the frame has wood rot and is structurally unsound.

Yes, professional window cleaning is worth the investment. Regular deep cleanings help keep your windows looking new, extend their lifespan, and boost your home's curb appeal. By removing dirt, dust, and other debris, you can reduce the risk of damage and accelerated wear to window frames and components. It also improves your home’s energy efficiency by keeping insulation and weatherstripping in good working order, potentially lowering your energy bills. Furthermore, annual or bi-annual cleanings can help identify problems like leaks or cracks early, before they escalate into expensive water damage. You can often recuperate the cost of cleaning through energy savings and by avoiding premature window replacement.

When your double-hung window upper sash keeps falling down, it means you could be letting out warm air in the winter or cool air from the AC in the summer. That means your HVAC system works harder to warm or cool the house, costing you extra on electric bills.

If the lower sash continues to fall down, it means when you’ve popped open the window for fresh air, it could slam shut. In addition to being inconvenient, this could be dangerous if you have small kids, children, or pets that like to hang out by the window.

The amount of time window lintels last is based on the environment they’re installed in and the material that’s installed. For example, a steel lintel installed in a temperate climate will always last longer than a wooden or brick lintel installed in an area with tons of rain, snow, and wind. No matter which material you choose or where you live, proper maintenance will ensure your lintels last as long as possible.

Most standard windows can accommodate solar screens, but specialty shapes or non-standard frames may require custom solutions. It’s important to consult with a professional to ensure compatibility and proper fit for unique window designs. Arched, bay, and fabricated windows often need fabricated screens, which can increase costs and lead time.
