"Very quick to respond, provide an estimate, and perform the job. Eric is a true brick professional. Did a great job on my brick wall repair and cleaned up the job site well. I would recommend Eric for all types of brickwork as he has been in the industry for a long time and does a great job."

"Outstanding owner and operator of this concrete business. Rome excavated, installed rock, and finished the concrete for a pickleball court, shed pad, and extension to my driveway. Everything was done perfectly and on time. Exceptionally pleased with the work, workmanship, and the people he hired to complete a multi concrete and excavation project. So very thankful he called during my initial call for help. Excellent job and Rome leaves this project with a lifetime friend in me."

"Holly, Manuel and the crew were very professional, methodical and detail oriented. They provided great communication during planning, execution and post project work. We were given detailed information on the options of material and their recommendation for our need. The crew worked hard despite challenging weather of rain and snow. We had some scope changes and yet they're able to take them in stride, did the additional work with the same level of professionalism and completed the project on time. The retaining wall and fence border property lines and our neighbors were also impressed with the quality of their work. We highly recommend them."

"John was terrific in all respects. He came out the first day to give me an estimate. He brought his crew out the next day to start the demo and prep work. After a short delay due to poor weather and a difficulty in obtaining concrete, he completed the job on the third day. The price was reasonable and the quality of work was top notch! John kept me informed at every step of the work and answered all my questions. I highly recommend him for any concrete needs you may have."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

Protect fresh mortar from rain to ensure proper curing during the wet season. Secure a final inspection from local building officials to close out any required permits. Reassess your property drainage to keep water away from newly repaired foundations. Schedule an annual visual inspection of all completed masonry work to catch re-emerging issues early in the damp and seismically active WA environment.

Helpful?

Completing masonry work directly blocks moisture intrusion, protecting your home from mold and structural rot. In Kent, sealing exterior brick reduces drafts and heat loss during cold, damp winters. Repairing chimneys eliminates serious fire and carbon monoxide hazards, restoring safe heating. Fixing retaining walls and foundations prevents slope movement and foundation settling, keeping your property secure and comfortable throughout the wet season.

Helpful?

Watch for white salt deposits on your walls, indicating active water movement. Deep mortar erosion allows water to pool, accelerating damage during Kent rainstorms. Horizontal cracks in retaining walls signal dangerous soil pressure, while stair-step cracks point to foundation settlement. Address these early masonry work warning signs, along with spalling brick faces or a leaning chimney, immediately to prevent severe structural failure.

Helpful?

Schedule masonry work between late spring and early fall. Kent receives heavy rainfall from October to April, and mortar requires dry conditions to cure properly. Working during the wet winter leads to weakened joints and premature failure. Winter temperatures consistently drop below the required minimums for safe application. Book local professionals early for the dry season to ensure your structures cure perfectly in the WA weather.

Helpful?

For masonry work in Kent, repairing damaged areas is more cost-effective than full replacement. The local climate causes predictable, localized wear, making early mortar repairs highly effective. Replacing structures triggers strict building permits and updated seismic standards required for WA homes. Address minor deterioration early to preserve your older brick features and avoid the extensive administrative and material demands of a complete tear-down.
