Now they’re saying that leveling the kitchen wasn’t included in the original scope, blaming the remaining dip on my kitchen island and fridge being “too heavy” and lacking proper support—an issue they failed to identify in the initial assessment. To properly address this problem, they’re now asking for an additional $7,500, claiming this work was never part of the original job. This feels like a classic bait-and-switch tactic, and I can’t help but feel taken advantage of. To make matters worse, I discovered that they used an uncalibrated machine during the initial leveling when installing, which raised my house over an inch more than necessary, causing significant damage that wasn’t there before. Jose is very responsive and helped me out quite a bit dealing with renovating and repairing an older house that was not properly taken care of by the previous owners/renters. The only real issue we had was confirming the materials that would be installed in the bathroom (i.e., fixtures, etc). There was some miscommunication there that probably was not helped by the fact we are out of state and trying to manage a construction project. One thing that stood out about Jose was his willingness to help out with things that didn't fall under his contractual obligations. For example, he helped me transport a water tank when he didn't need to do so. If we have a need for services that Bellos Construction offers, then we will definitely consider them in the future given our experiences with them."
