After over two years of working on our plans, and getting some preliminary drawing done we had a great vision for our new back patio. We talked with numerous builders as we prepared to start our project. We met with Anthony, and looked at several of Straight Line’s previous projects. We marveled at how elegant their projects looked, so we chose to work with them. While we thought we had our project figured out, Anthony did suggest that we may make some adjustments during the course of the construction. He was absolutely correct as we choose to make several adjustments during the process. Everyone we worked with connected with Straight-line; Brad-owner, Anthony-project manager, Brant-lead carpenter, Wesley-concrete, Andre-Painter, Mike-electrician, were so helpful. All the workers we’re more than willing to accommodate our adjustments. Even more valuable for us was how frequently they lent their experienced eyes to suggest options that looked better than what we had originally planned. In the end our back patio looks truly spectacular. Our only frustration was that it was hard to stay on schedule. We realize a few weeks in delay will pale in comparison to a lifetime of backyard enjoyment in our new space. We can’t stop smiling when we walk out into our newly created patio space. We would highly recommend using this company for any outdoor project large or small. In fact even after completion of the work, and payment was made they have been willing to come out to do touch up work to assure everything looked exactly the way it should. My wife and I can not say enough positive things about our experience working with Brad and Scott at Straight Line. Throughout the entire process of designing and building our home, they were thoughtful, courteous, and very responsive. From the outset, they were very clear on what the costs for the entire project would be and provided very detailed cost breakdowns for each element. Moreover, when we had questions or wanted to make changes (either additions or subtractions) they kept very detailed records and were clear with us about how that would impact the budget. At the end of the entire project, when I compared my estimated cost for all the changes with their's, Brad's numbers were lower than I expected!
Beyond just being very clear and direct, the work done was of the highest quality. We've lived in our house for just over 4 months and don't have any complaints whatsoever!
Without a doubt, we'll work with Straight Line again and give them our highest possible recommendation as a general contractor and builder.

Installation and painting of the siding went well. I was not home to see the work in progress. Siding was installed in late March. Painting occurred in first half of April after a rainy period ended. Last part of the job is to install a new cover on top of the chase and that has not gone all that well. I had to call and email several times and was told that last task kept falling through the cracks. On June 1, finally met with contractor and sub-contractor, who took the needed measurements. Still waiting for the cover to be fabricated and installed as of 15 June 2015. I'm uncertain if I would use this contractor again. Initially things went pretty well and the contractor has always been polite and apologize for the delays, but the prolonged delays in finishing the full job have been frustrating.

From the very beginning when we were getting bids, I knew I wanted this company to do our job. We were on the last major phase of additions when our good friend and contractor passed away. So from an emotional standpoint, it was very difficult to even go through the process of hiring a new contractor. Brad and the entire crew were very professional yet quite caring to get us the product we wanted. We couldn't be happier with the results. I would recommend you give this company an opportunity to meet you and bid on whatever job you're planning. I would not hesitate to hire this company again.

Anthony Lovell, the main contact for this job, was very professional and pleasant to deal with. He seemed very competant and knowledgable from the start. He instilled a sense of confidence that his company had the expertise and experienced skilled workers to do the job to my satisfiaction. He kept in communication with me through email and phone conversations and was very responsive to my questions. The workers that did the painting and installed the headers were very pleasant, professional, showed up on time, and did a very good job.

Staff worked well and did a good job when they came to do the work. The problem was a multiple week delay between installing siding and painting, a delay that went on and on for no apparent reason and with very little response from the company to requests for information. Their lead sales person seemed very caring and competent but with experience it became clear he was a pretty slippery character.

Every one that I had contact with at Straight line was very professional, prompt and courteous. They showed up when they said they would. Completed the work ahead of schedule. They did a very professional job. My house looks great. I would definitely recommend them.... as a matter of fact I already have to a friend in Portland. It also looks like we are in need of a new roof after the last storm and I will be calling them for sure if it turns out we do.
If you are in need of any of the services they provide I would not hesitate to call them.

The project was complex due to different species of wood & siding. They were able to do the job earlier than scheduled, a pleasant surprise for me. It was easy coordinating with their foreman. And a real pleasure working with StraightLine!

The Straightline crew, did a great job making our house that was built in the 1970's making it look bran new. They removed the old siding replaced it with new and then cleaned up the mess and hauled it away, it was great. They also replaced our old aluminum single pane windows with new energy efficient ones, What a difference it has made on our heating bill. The new deck has been our new living room this summer, we love it GREAT JOB GUYS

As far as we can tell, the siding looks good and we are pleased with the result. The project manager was good to deal with throughout the process. When we were seeking bids, Straight Line was extremely professional and gave us a very top notch presentation. That, combined with the pricing, were the reasons we decided to use them.
But we had a big bump along the road....
The work was originally scheduled for late June, but had to be pushed back due to their schedule. Unfortunately, the first couple of days of their work intersected with the last couple of days of our vacation and we were out of town when they began. I will NEVER do that again -- with them or any other contractor. On the last day of our vacation, we received a call from the project manager saying that his crew showed up in the morning to work and saw that our house and shop (a separate outbuilding) had been broken in to. The doors had been pried open with a crow bar (conveniently, an item being used to demo the old siding). Several items had been stolen from our home including both TVs, a brand new lawnmower, and several items that belonged to my dad who is no longer with us and are, frankly, irreplaceable.
While it hasn't yet been proven by the sheriff's office, it is very difficult for us to not conclude that the break in was related to the siding work. In 25 years of existence, our neighborhood has never had a break in. We were shook up and our neighbors were shook up. Someone was in our home, in our 18-month-old's bedroom, in every room in our house, going through our things, our file cabinet, our drawers. We feel violated and it has marred our whole experience with the siding.
Otherwise, there were several annoyances like the crew playing extremely loud music from their truck, working at our house until 7:00 or 8:00 at night, leaving cigarette butts around the yard, etc. that we probably wouldn't have worried about except we were so rattled by the break in that it just added a whole nother level to the project.
So, despite their professional presentation of the bid and the amiable project manager, we are glad to have our property back to ourselves and the siding project completed, and we hope the person that broke in to our home is caught ASAP.

Jonathan and everyone else at Straight Line were great! We had other contractors tell us the whole house needed to be done but Jonathan told us that a lot of our siding was still in good shape so we only needed to have 1/2 of the house re-sided.
The crew that came out was efficient and quick. They cleaned up after themselves and answered all of our questions as we went along. The whole experience was good.

The put on the hardy cement siding. This was a large project that we had them do. The were very professional and were on time. The product installation was great. Also they worked with a couple painters which were excellent. The house just looks great. They also helped with color, siding, and design. They were very helpful on what would make hour house look the best.

I was very impressed by the professionalism of the company's sales representative, Jonathan Tutt, as well as the job foreman and the crew. The installation and painting of the siding was completed in a timely manner, the crew was courteous and answered any questions I had to my satisfaction, and upon completion of the work the crew took great care in cleaning up any leftover debris.
It has been three years since this work was done and the siding still looks fresh and new, adding to the curb appeal of my property. I would not hesitate to use StraightLine Siding and Construction in the future.

The crew arrived on the appointed day and immediately began removing all damaged or rotted vertical cedar siding, and replacing it with new premium vertical cedar siding. It was installed professionally and perfectly. I was on site during the entire 4 day process and watched all phases of the work being done. The windows were delivered on day 2 in the early afternoon and work began in earnest to remove the existing aluminum frame windows. The weather was ideal for the job.
The new vinyl windows were installed with the flanges, the best way to do the work. They were sealed against weather and then the 2.5 in pre-primed cedar trim was cut in around each new window, flashed correctly at the top and carefully caulked using only top grade materials. All interior window treatments were carefully removed. Every window opening was masked with clear plastic on the inside to keep dust and dirt out of the house, and then once each new window was in place, the interior masking was all removed and each window immaculately caulked with a clear silicone seal around the interior window trim.
Finally all window treatments were reinstalled correctly and a thorough cleanup was performed and all windows carefully cleaned inside aqnd out. The job foreman was on hand for the entire four days and was very courteous and responsive to any and all questions and concerns. We could not have asked for a more professional installation. The job was completed on schedule and we are extremely pleased with the results.

"We never take payment until the customer has signed a satisfaction/completion form and this customer did sign the form and make payment so it is very odd that he wrote this. I (Jonathan) called him and he stated that he was dissatisfied with the fact the door took 3.5 weeks to get in, instead of what I told him was the usual which is 2-3. The manufacturer took a little bit more time than usual and he was informed of this by phone calls with voice mails which he stated he never got. The door was a custom patio slider and it was sold to him installed for $839.00 not the $900.00 stated. We are always communicative,proffecional and on time but have learned through this to get multiple phone numbers from customers so that we can leave messages on multiple phones if need be. We did an excellent job on his door (which Clark County PUD signed off on) and it was done only half a week more than what I though it would take to get the door in. Out of the 1000 plus windows installed this year alone we've had no other complaints on windows but this one which should say something. Please consider that this customer's complaint was with the fact the window was installed half a week later than expected due to the manufacturer not making it as quickly as usual."

Johnathan has been a joy to work with. The crew showed up as per schedule and did a great job of re-siding our house which had defective LP siding. They kept everything neat and tidy. Did their work in a professional manner, asking questions when needed. The price was exactly quoted and their was no upselling. I have appreciated working with the entire Straightline crew and management.

The job started with a visit from Johnathon Tutt. I found Johnathon very engaged and helpful in our discussion of the replacement of our 23 windows. He was knowleable of products and provided his expert opinion on various options that we may want to consider.
After a thorough discussion, we decided on our window choice. We took Johnathons reccomendation on window choice as he had used them in his house.
The following meeting was a review of the cost of the replacements and how the replacement and construction would be provided by Straightline. We accepted the offer and the work was scheduled.
We are extremely happy with our windows that we chose with Johnathon's help and the work that was performed. Johnathon is very organized and was always on time and followed through as needed.
The construction crew was also very friendly and responsive and maintained the timeframe that was required. I would not hesitate to use them again or reccomend them to a friend.

The two man crew was very professional and thorough during the whole project, with the office checking in on their progress daily to be aware of any problems. With a soggy start of this project due to heavy rains, the crew still managed to meet their goals for the day. They were prompt in arriving to work and made adjustments working late and extra days when the need arose. We were happy that we could easily talk with the crew without seeming to be in their way and communication was pretty important to us with our install/materials requests. One request was 1/2" spacing between deck boards due to large trees and their mess, as we were looking for minimal maintenance chores (no more deck flossing). They also made tools to make sure all boards were evenly spaced which worked out great. When the deck was complete we were very happy with the quality of workmanship, visual effects and the easy of sweeping the deck clean. After the deck construction Straightline then arranged for the railings project. We have received many compliments on the deck from friends which we would easily refer Straightline again.
