"You will love working with this contractor. Honest to a fault, generous beyond compare and a wonderful dry sense of humor. I chose Allset because he was willing to let me do part of the work in order to save costs. Others that I spoke with only wanted to do all the work. I highly recommend Scott for any project you might have."

"Great crew. They listened, but were a little disbelieving when I told them that it was going to cost more and take longer. With the experience I've had working on projects throughout my home, this happened every single time. I just laughed. The project manager did help me with saving on a project we were going to do, but hadn't decided on yet. Thanks to a tariff, we were able to get it done for a much more affordable price. We had 3 projects done by them. New furnace, kitchen remodel, and crown molding and baseboards installation."

"I’ve worked with Chris several times and will continue to hire and work with him. He has a great eye for detail, knowledge and suggestions about products, and in-depth experience with construction and remediation. My next project is replacing the siding on my 83 year old house and Chris will be my first call."

"Rocky had to come in and take over our outdoor BBQ area project that another contractor messed up. He and his team were professional, on time, communicate well, and every thing was quality workmanship. Learned my lesson-going with the lowest bid is not the best way to go."

"Leo and his team did a great job on our new deck. Very professional and accessible (always responded immediately to calls and emails). Used creative ideas and worked with my ideas also. Much appreciated. Would definitely hire them again for any future projects."

"Yes! Eduardo and his son did a great job and I highly recommend them to anyone. There’s a lot of contractors who reached out about this project but what I really liked and one of the reason why I hired them because when Eduardo came out to look at the projects he listened and and then he shared with me his thoughts, unlike the others who just insisted this and that and I even almost kicked one out of the house already. After all, we the homeowners are the customers . Anyways, there’s more projects ahead of us and I definitely don’t mind having them to come out for estimate. We showed photos to friends and families and they all loved it."

Aegis is a new business but the experience behind it is extensive , I (Tyler) have been in the construction industry for 12 years . I was an electrician for years before I decided to work in residential construction management. We are a new business so we are competitive with our pricing and we also have a name to make for ourselves in this industry so quality work is the name of our game. We specialize in remodeling, and insurance claims and restoration reconstruction. Give us the chance to take care of your home and we will deliver a quality job, great communication and great team that is easy to work with. Thank you and have a wonderful day!

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Using a steel frame may raise the value of your home. Steel is more heat resistant, has better longevity, and doesn’t need any upkeep compared to traditional wood. You can also customize a steel build a little easier than other materials like brick, concrete, and vinyl—which have trouble bending and adapting to renovations.

Most of the time, you’ll want to use screws on your subfloor rather than nails. Nails can actually weaken plywood, whereas screws can easily penetrate without damage. They also form a more secure connection because of their shape, preventing squeaky floors and tightly holding the subfloor in place. That said, some contractors do prefer nails depending on the type of floor covering because they allow for more flexibility.

Homeowners can increase the usefulness of their garage space in other ways, and one option is to extend the length of the garage by making it deeper. The process is similar to traditional garage extensions, but the end product is a garage with a different layout rather than additional parking spaces.

Yes, using certified lumber and engineered wood products for reduced environmental impact.

If the bowing basement wall is less than 2 inches, steel or carbon fiber straps are the best solution. For bowing that is more than 2 inches, wall anchors are the most effective. A contractor can help you decide the best method of repair for your home's foundation and also address the root cause of the trouble.
