"You will love working with this contractor. Honest to a fault, generous beyond compare and a wonderful dry sense of humor. I chose Allset because he was willing to let me do part of the work in order to save costs. Others that I spoke with only wanted to do all the work. I highly recommend Scott for any project you might have."

Customers say: True professional

"I’ve worked with Chris several times and will continue to hire and work with him. He has a great eye for detail, knowledge and suggestions about products, and in-depth experience with construction and remediation. My next project is replacing the siding on my 83 year old house and Chris will be my first call."

"Rocky had to come in and take over our outdoor BBQ area project that another contractor messed up. He and his team were professional, on time, communicate well, and every thing was quality workmanship. Learned my lesson-going with the lowest bid is not the best way to go."

"Leo and his team did a great job on our new deck. Very professional and accessible (always responded immediately to calls and emails). Used creative ideas and worked with my ideas also. Much appreciated. Would definitely hire them again for any future projects."

"Yes! Eduardo and his son did a great job and I highly recommend them to anyone. There’s a lot of contractors who reached out about this project but what I really liked and one of the reason why I hired them because when Eduardo came out to look at the projects he listened and and then he shared with me his thoughts, unlike the others who just insisted this and that and I even almost kicked one out of the house already. After all, we the homeowners are the customers . Anyways, there’s more projects ahead of us and I definitely don’t mind having them to come out for estimate. We showed photos to friends and families and they all loved it."

Aegis is a new business but the experience behind it is extensive , I (Tyler) have been in the construction industry for 12 years . I was an electrician for years before I decided to work in residential construction management. We are a new business so we are competitive with our pricing and we also have a name to make for ourselves in this industry so quality work is the name of our game. We specialize in remodeling, and insurance claims and restoration reconstruction. Give us the chance to take care of your home and we will deliver a quality job, great communication and great team that is easy to work with. Thank you and have a wonderful day!

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

For a professional carpenter, installing a window seat can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days, depending on some aspects of the project. Aside from building the seat itself, if they have to remove any cabinets, shelves, or baseboards, that will add time to the project.

Installing an ornamental or decorative porch column takes around three to five hours. Structural columns take longer because your pro has to install a jack to hold up the roof while switching the column out. If there's any structural damage, it can add several days to the timeline to repair the damage.

Yes, ceiling joists are typically load-bearing. However, their primary function is to support the weight of the ceiling and loads applied to it, like lighting fixtures and ceiling fans. They can also help support the roof, especially if they’re part of truss systems. Remember, the load-bearing capacity of ceiling joists depends on the material, size, and space between them.

Yes, walls on the top floor can be load-bearing if stacked on the floor’s foundation.

If you remove a load-bearing wall to create an entrance to a carport or covered patio, you can expect to pay between $3,200 and $9,500, with an average cost of $6,400. Factors such as the type of addition and if that area needs additional work will add to the price.
