"Rodrigo, met me at a rental property that I was getting ready to put on the market. He was on time and a peasure to work with. We discussed the work needed to bring the 11,000 square property up to a standard that would look presentable for sale. He gave me a written quote which i thought to be fair. The following week Rodrigo and his crew went to work. After a full day of labor, the property looked AMAZING! The trees and bushes were trimmed, rotten plants and shrubs were pulled, grass was cut and edges trimmed. 18 yards of beauty bark was placed neatly around the property. It was a complete transformation! The property is the nicest in the neighborhood. Thank you to Rodrigo and his crew!"

Specialties We have multiple Hydroseeding trucks that are capable of top-mount spraying (large areas), as well motorized hose-reel mounted on the back of our trucks. Our trucks allow us to do jobs that most cannot. With that, we hold ourselves to a higher standard of quality work and communication. Our job is to spray a seed/mulch/water mixture and can guarantee growth. Depending on the season customers can have grass growth within 2-3 weeks, but also requires you keep the mulch moist like a wet sponge. Meet the Business Owner Business owner information Nicole T. Business Owner My dad started this business, and both me and my sister had started working here at a very young age. I run the material purchasing, job scheduling, and invoicing. Our clients are the best. We have worked with a bunch of different businesses over the years so much that some have been invited to our holiday parties! We can do any custom seed/mulch mixture that depends on your scenario, but most likely you need regular lawn/grass mix. Our most common jobs: 1. Landscapers hire us to spray grass seed on their client jobs 2. Homeowners hire us to spray grass seed at their houses 3. Big company/property-developers hire us for erosion control

"Two big issues... last Summer they burned my lawn with fertilizer. Granted, they tried to fix it but the lawn didn't recover until this Spring. This year, they showed up but didn't apply moss control or lime to my full lawn. They only partially applied it in a couple of small strips. A few weeks after 'applying' moss control, they left me a note saying I need moss control."

Urban Oasis focuses on design solutions that tie our clients’ homes into their landscape and that reflect details from architecture of the home itself. We begin with a free one-hour in-home consultation with one of our designers. During this meeting, we introduce our company, get a sense of the space and gain a clearer understanding of our potential customer’s needs and aesthetic preferences. Following this meeting, we send a design proposal for the client’s scope of work. After measuring the project area, shooting grades and taking lots of photographs, we begin design by exploring the functionality of the space as it exists with an eye for improving layout, flow and usability. During our first design meeting we typically present two to three design concepts. Working with our clients, we determine the best layout for their desired usage and consolidate ideas from the initial conceptual plans into one unified design. Once construction begins, our designers oversee the construction to assure that the design intent is clear and carried through the project. Trevor oversees the daily construction activity. In contracting us to design your project, you are also contracting us to build it. We do not take on design-only projects; however, we are happy to work with you to phase your work and, where appropriate, to find portions of the work that willing customers may choose to do themselves. We are also available for projects that do not need design work as the preliminary stage to construction.

"We found Urban Oasis at work on a neighbor's property up the street. Impressed with their work, we invited them to consult on our landscaping and hardscaping needs and wishes. We have been very pleased with the people, the process, and the results. In almost every respect, Urban Oasis surpassed our expectations. There are, however, two areas where we were disappointed—the joints on our flagstone shrank and developed cracks and the lawn did not make it through the first winter in good shape. In both cases, Urban sent crews to make repairs under their warranty, but we're still not completely satisfied with the results. •Design: (A+) We had purchased a 20-year old home in Kirkland After living there for a year, we had a long list of landscape and hardscape improvements in mind. In working with Urban Oasis, we took our time with the design phase, going through several iterations them as they developed and revised plans to meet our requirements. Their designer came up with some unexpected ideas for making better use of our space that would never have occurred to us. Provided comprehensive plans and proposal. •Stonework (A-) Urban installed a new flagstone walkway and front steps to replace an aging and cracked concrete walk, added a new front mini patio, and a large rear patio. The stone fitting was superb, artful, and beautiful but we were not fully satisfied with the look and durability of the polymeric sand joints (Gator Dust). Although Urban came out to do warranty repairs, the new joints were put down by a different crew and perhaps with a different product. They don't match the look of the original work. •Carpentry: (A+) They took down our deck and replaced it with an expanded composite deck that has a drainage system built in allowing us to add ceiling lights and heaters on the lower level so we can use it even in rainy weather. They also replaced the decking on our lower level and hot tub area to match. Finally, they also replaced the aged front and back fencing with new cedar fences. •Landscaping: (B) They regraded our lawn to solve drainage issues and replaced it with new sod. The regrading was a huge improvement, but the sod didn't hold up. Our lawn developed bare spots over the winter. The warranty reseeding left us with a spotty lawn of uneven color. It seemed to have a variety of grasses that didn't blend well. (We have subsequently replaced the lawn using a different vendor with much better results.) Lighting: (A+) One of my favorite parts of the project is the Luxor (FX Luminaire), low-voltage, LED lighting system they proposed, designed, and installed for path, deck, and landscape lighting. We can change colors and schedules to match the seasons. It's a joyous enhancement to the property. •Scheduling and Project Management: (A+) Very pleased with their process of weekly status meetings to review progress. They were very responsive to suggestions and had a solid change-order process with no surprises. The logistics and scheduling of the project, the delivery of materials kept everything moving smoothly with no hitch. The carpentry and stone teams from Urban Oasis were not only highly-skilled at their crafts but also reliable, dedicated, and a joy to have around."

Lawn Fertilization and Treatment questions, answered by experts

The first step is killing any current nutgrass plants, either through application of herbicides or sugar, by digging up the plants and rhizomes, or by using soil solarization. To discourage new nutgrass plants from forming, ensure proper landscape drainage and bring shade into areas of the lawn that are consistently damp.

You should apply sulfur to your lawn in the spring or fall when it is below 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Aim for a day with little to no wind so you can apply it with precision. You can apply sulfur to an established lawn or mix it into the top 6 inches of soil on an unplanted area.

It depends on the condition of the grass during the drought. If your grass completely died, it won’t turn green again after drought. However, if it just went dormant, you still have a chance to revive your lawn once drought conditions have passed. Follow proper lawn care practices after a drought to try and get your lawn back to its healthy, green self.

Whether you’re putting down fresh seed or reseeding, there are a few things to keep in mind when seeding your lawn. Be sure to choose the correct seed for your climate, seed at the right time of year, and water two to three times a day for the first week. Generally, Dudley recommends seeding in spring and fall as it is usually cooler and rainier.

Overfertilizing can burn and kill the grass as well as upset the soil's nutrient balance, leaving your grass prone to disease and infestation. You'll know that you have overfertilized your burn when you have recently fertilized and begin to see brown and yellow patches of dead grass that need to be reseeded.
