Bartlett Tree Experts has been providing scientific tree care since 1907. A 3rd generation, family owned business, our mission is the maintenance and care of the health and beauty of trees and shrubs. We are an international organization, with offices in Canada, England and Ireland. Our research laboratories advises us about the latest technological advances in arboriculture and assists our arborists with training updates. The laboratory networks with professionals at universities, government agencies, and allied industry groups. This enables us to provide state-of-the art procedures and techniques to our clients. Our arborists consult with other professionals for common projects and community interests. Our unique position in the green industry helps us further arboriculture as a science and a profession. We believe in providing pro-active property maintenance to avoid landscape problems or stop them early rather than “reactive” maintenance that is driven by situations and events. I was really impressed with Bartlett Tree Service from start to finish. Sterling came to give us a bid, and spent a lot of time educating us and helping us understand our options. He gave us an itemized bid that was competitively priced. The day of the work he showed up with the crew, and reviewed the plan with us. The crew was friendly, professional, and respectful of our property. They did a great job with the tree work, and we will definitely be using them in the future.

The landscape of our mid-century modern hillside home had been neglected for decades, and the overgrown hedges were crowding out the trees. The arborist spent plenty of time going through the options and provided a decent estimate. The team from Bartlett arrived on time, on the date they said, ready to work. They did a wonderful job, high in the trees on a difficult hillside property. They were polite and responsive at every step. At the walk-through at the end of the day, there was not a twig out of place, and the job was complete to the agreed scope of work. I know that we will be calling them back to do more work, which the property desperately needs.

Sterling from Bartlett came out the next day to give an estimate and arrange for the work to be done within 1-2 days. I had one other estimate from another Angie's list company which was higher. This was during a time when there had been a lot of windy weather so I was pleased at how soon a team was available to do the work.
The large tree was balanced on its branches on our sloped driveway and was in danger of crushing a number of shrubs and other plants if it was not removed carefully.
Sterling arranged to do a lot of the trimming from a bucket truck which he did himself. There was no additional damage to the garden and the area was cleaned up and the tree taken away.
Sterling was responsive to phone calls during the process and afterwards when I needed some further information.
I would definitely use this company again. Sterling was professional, knowledgeable and pleasant to work with.

It was excellent. Their arborist spent a good hour plus with me walking the property making suggestions for immediate and future plans for yard care.
There are a lot of special plants in my yard, and when they did the tree trimming work, they were very careful to protect both my landscaping and the roof.

Went great from start to finish. Communication was great. Staff doing the tree work was very conscientious, courteous, skilled, and knew what they were doing. One of trees was a very large Douglas Fir over the house, and I had great confidence in what they were doing. Price was reasonable. Will definitely use again. Plan to make them my go to tree company from now on.

Bartlett has provided outstanding service on this property twice. I have a large, mature ash tree that is known for having somewhat brittle boughs with structurally weak branch unions, so keeping excess weight off it is important. Bartlett's techs climb into the crown and take the time to prune judiciously and selectively, so that unless you took before and after pictures, you'd never know they removed a significant amount of material. This is difficult and painstaking work, and they do it well.
Very professional and helpful, willing to answer questions, and always punctual for both estimates and projects.
They're not the cheapest option, but for a tree that I care about, I don't want a low bidder. I'd recommend them without reservation.

I have a lot of doug fir, cherry and other large trees. I have used them on a number of occasions and they are great. Importantly they understand how the tree fits into the overall landscape, not trimming too much and producing a look that is well kept but also "natural," not simply butchered.

The firm that previously maintained the trees closed and I interviewed six firms before choosing Bartlett. I am very impressed by their professionalism, service, and fair price. Importantly they have an office manager and their estimator answers emails promptly allowing firm communication.
Their work was much better than their predecessor. I have extensive experience with trees, nonetheless they educated me on much I didn't know.
I've recommended them to three people, two of whom have already used them and are very satisfied.

This was the 3rd treatment for a pair of charry trees. The technician was very knowledgeable and thorough in his work. He also treated a large rhododendron for root problems and applied a time-release fertilizer. That shrub is now starting to show new growth, very encouranging.

The service worked out well. They had a chipper attached to their truck and they did that on site and I asked them for the chips and they gave that to me for landscaping. They have a truck with a cherry picker and they can get in to areas that are high with no trouble at all.

Jake was very knowledgeable about our types of trees/bushes and provided excellent suggestions about what should be done and how to make everything look good. The crew followed up with suggestions based upon our desires. When job was completed they totally cleaned up all branches and other debris. In total they trimmed and thinned out 5 trees of varying sizes, a whole row of arborvitae and three other bushes. The only two concerns were the time it took to come to our house for an inspection/quotation (2 weeks) and their billing process. The original billing did not have the Angie's List discount and a second billing took over 3 weeks to be received. The billing is done from a corporate office, not the local office.
