Urban Oasis Design & Construction LLC
About us
Urban Oasis focuses on design solutions that tie our clients’ homes into their landscape and that reflect details from architecture of the home itself. We begin with a free one-hour in-home consultation with one of our designers. During this meeting, we introduce our company, get a sense of the space and gain a clearer understanding of our potential customer’s needs and aesthetic preferences. Following this meeting, we send a design proposal for the client’s scope of work. After measuring the project area, shooting grades and taking lots of photographs, we begin design by exploring the functionality of the space as it exists with an eye for improving layout, flow and usability. During our first design meeting we typically present two to three design concepts. Working with our clients, we determine the best layout for their desired usage and consolidate ideas from the initial conceptual plans into one unified design. Once construction begins, our designers oversee the construction to assure that the design intent is clear and carried through the project. Trevor oversees the daily construction activity. In contracting us to design your project, you are also contracting us to build it. We do not take on design-only projects; however, we are happy to work with you to phase your work and, where appropriate, to find portions of the work that willing customers may choose to do themselves. We are also available for projects that do not need design work as the preliminary stage to construction.

"Hey There, A-Listers, This is Carrie from Urban Oasis. We always welcome feedback from our clients and constantly strive to improve our services based upon customer feedback. We are always disappointed when we are not able to meet our clients' design goals at their budget. We wanted to address a few things that were not stated completely accurately. First, the time between when a design contract is provided and when it is signed is completely in our clients' control. Time of signing and workload, as well as our clients' schedules, affect the duration of our design phase. By our records, we started the design process with an initial in October 2017 ... October 14th to be exact. Second, I'm sorry this client feels that there was not much thought put into the design. From our perspective, we spent more time than was accounted for in the design contract's specified hours and had more meetings with the client in an effort to get this large scale project into their budget without changing our fees. So we feel that a great deal of thought was put into the design and process. We did present more options and adjustments to the plan than indicated above; however, no matter how it was designed, the space was still large and had to be filled with something be it planting, lawn, drainage, etc. Last, their description of the process leaves out many details including the fact that I always ask for a budget initially but none was given until well into the design process. We did our best to accommodate that situation, but we simply could not do a project of that scale properly at the stated budget. As I explained to the client, every company has its own expenses and pricing necessary to make the company viable, and we regret that ours did not meet their budget for the project. We are happy to learn that they found a company to work with that met their budget and goals for the project, and that the outcome was to their satisfaction."

estimates to do the work. It took longer than that to get back to me but
they did provide this information.
did not proceed with the projects because:
1. The reviews on Angie's List were mixed
2. I am traveling a lot this summer and wont be there to take care of new plants.
"[Removed Member Name], I wanted to clarify that the deal was for a site visit and a plant schedule. That is a list of plants that could be added to your existing garden to update it. No plan or drawings were included in the offer. In hindsight, I probably should have defined plant schedule better within the Deal - I didn't realize that it was more of an industry term. Typically, we do not plant bulbs because we warranty our plants but cannot warranty bulbs as they tend to move (squirrels, etc). We would welcome your feedback if you feel that less plants would be necessary. That would also reduce the cost. Best, Carrie Culp"
