JOSE'S LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE

Like the other reviewers, set an appointment to review the job. Supposedly Teo was to be the estimator. A No Call-No Show. Appointment was scheduled for 3PM. By 3:15 I called the office. They had no clue and would call back. 20 minutes passed and received a call that he was sick and they had to cancel 4 others. Asked why I wasn’t called before my appointment. She said people get sick and attitude showed didn’t really care they missed it. My rule has always been if you can’t make the first appointment and don’t bother calling ahead of time, you can’t be trusted to follow through and you certainly don’t get my business. NEXT! Buyer beware on this one....

They did a terrific job. Our yard was simply overgrown and needed a lot of work. They came and stayed all day cutting, pruning, weeding, etc. There were three workers in the morning and two in the afternoon. During the day I asked them to do a few extra things and they handled each immediately. They came when expected and worked hard.

Jose's Landscaping is great to work with. I employ them at my rental and primary home. The work completed typically exceeds my expectations and the cost always comes in within the estimate. The backyard in my primary home has a lot of water flow underground which for decades has contributed to problems with erosion. Working with Jose's Landscaping a fair amount of piping was laid to collect the water and funnel it into a storm drain so now I have a stable soil again. Unbelievable undertaking and very happy I employed them for the job!

They were punctual and professional, always a pleasure to work with.

Great, I also had them remove some misc debris.. rocks stone for a small cost.

All work was done in a timely and professional manner. Jose was personally on site nearly every day to check in with us and his crew. They were courteous, professional, flexible and hard working. Their bids were reasonable and the work was always done within the agreed bid. The results met or exceeded our expectations. We have several more projects planned with them for the spring.

Jose and his crew did an extraordinary job of cleaning up and restoring our overgrown, weed-infested yard. And they did all this on a day when the rain did not stop. Jose's work included a follow-up job to ensure a good result.

I contacted approximately 14 contractors to get a quote on the landscape work we were planning to do. Out of which 8 showed up and we finalized on Jose Landscape. Few reasons why we selected Jose Landscape:

• They are licensed.
• The quote was best in comparision to 7 others.
• Unlike others, their quote included new plantation (Approx. 10 trees - 5'0 tall and 10 plants) along with re-plantation of existing once (as required by the design). Mulching was also included in the estimate.

Jose Salazar, the owner of the company was very professional. He had appointed 2 men on the site. They were very punctual and professional too.

Knowing that I used to leave early for work, Jose would visit me early morning everyday to ensure that I was okay with the work. He used to spend 15 - 30 minutes daily to go over the work and take feedback. The work was completed in approximately 14 days, as estimated by Jose in the beginning of the project.

The men at work always made sure that they cleaned the surroundings around the site so that we don't hear any complains from our neighbor or anyone else. This was another good thing that I liked about Jose Landscape. 
During the work, there were few areas that required adjustments (for example, during initial design we had a plan for 5 steps, whereas as we landed up with more due to the nature of slope at the site). We had to adjust the estimate due to the change, but it was easy to work wth Jose. T

Overall, I am very pleased with the work. If required, I plan to call him for any future work as well.

Jose is one of the best landscapers I have ever worked with. He came out to my house multiple times to discuss the project and to make sure everything was going as planned. The work was done fast and with high quality. I definitely recommend Jose to anyone who wants to get anything done around their house.

Fine.

Our home has a large number of hedges which were in need of trimming. Lots of ornamental boxwood shrubs surrounding the house as well as huge privacy hedges (over 30 ft tall) bordering one entire side of the property.  We are on an acre of land and there are ornamental hedges everywhere.
We found Jose's online and decided to give them a call. Mr Salnzar responded quickly and came over within a day to scope out the project. He spent a lot of time with us going over the project and making suggestions. He is very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. He sent us his bid the same day and we agreed on a price. He scheduled his crew to come do the work within a week. 
The day of the job, Salnzar arrived first and again reviewed the work to be done with my wife and I. His crew arrived 20 min later and he got them started. This was a HUGE job and at one point there were 8 guys working around our property. They did a great job and cleaned up the resulting mess quite well. They were ALL very polite and worked hard. They even helped me move my hottub to new location since there was enough man-power present to do so. 
Overall, we were very happy with the project.  After a few weeks, some of the hedges turned brown from the trimming (just along the top, cut edge). We've been told this can happen naturally after a trimming or because of petroleum lubricants used on the shears. When we use Jose's again (and we will), we'll make sure to ask them about this and, if they lubricate with petroleum-based products, ask them to change to vegetable oil or some other product - just to be safe.  We also noticed some of the hedges were trimmed very evenly while some others were a bit less so.  This was probably a function of which employee was doing the cutting. Some were obviously more skilled than others.  Again, this was a big job and there were 8 men working.
 
I definitely recommend these folks. We will call them again for sure.

He was really good. They came, they looked at it, they did the job with a fair price. They came early in the morning and worked until they finished at dark. They were very reliable, punctual, came on time, pleasant and efficient.

Called to get a quote for a monster yard cleanup and monthly maintenance. Jose called back right away and was able to come by the next day to look at our yard. He did a walk through and had quote to me by email the very next day. We ultimately went with another company but only because the other company had more knowledge of a specific type of landscaping we were interested in. Otherwise, I was very happy with Jose's prices and professionalism and would recommend him to others looking for a landscaper.

The crew was right on time and worked very hard while they were here. 3 guys came and worked for an hour. I was unhappy that t hey used a weed-eater to edge the yard instead of an edger. I emailed Jose and after a few days I got a response back that he would fix the error. By the end of the next week the entire lawn was re-edged. I appreciated Jose's attention to customer service even after I had remitted payment.

Jose was very much in communication about what needed to be done, the cost and when the work would be performed. He was very punctual and even called to let me know when he would be to my house. He met with me to go over the work to be performed once more and waited until his two landscapers came to meet up with him at the house.
They worked extremely hard in pouring rain aerating, power thatching and raking until all the moss was gone. It literally left me with very little grass, but with the seeding, fertilizing and rich nutrient dirt, the yard looked prime and ready for new grass. One of the workers rang my door bell once they were done and asked me to inspect the work and make sure all was good to go. They did an excellent job performing the work and cleaning up ,the yard looked great!
The grass is already starting to come in and is starting to look great! No more, weeds, moss and uneven grass. I would absolutely hire Jose again for any future landscaping needs. We are looking into having him do some paver patio work for us as he provided a reasonable estimate for that as well.
I very much appreciated Jose's responsiveness, punctuation and quality work by him and his team.

We needed a trench dug through our gravel driveway to lay some electrical conduit; too deep, narrow and long for me to do by hand. They were responsive and made sure that they knew exactly what they were supposed to do (I dug a shallow line for them to follow, just in case), then did it. I had left them a check in an agreed-upon location (they quoted a better price by far than some other services, by the way), and the job was completed while I was at work. It was a straightforward job, done on time and on budget. They called back later that evening to make sure everything had been done to our satisfaction, and it was. Overall, as far as a landscaping company is concerned this was a simple job, so an A rating across the board seems disproportionately positive, but there was no fault whatsoever with their execution, and calling back to ensure satisfaction was a nice touch that not all companies bother with.

Jose gave us an estimate ($1,095.00) for weeding, trimming and general clean-up of our front and back yards. When we decided we wanted to do just the front for now, he made another trip to our house to adjust the estimate, then had his crew out at the appointed time the next morning. As we had requested, they did not start any noisy power tools until almost 9:00, so as not to disturb the neighbors. He and his crew were efficient and thorough. They were done in about 2 1/2 hours and left my front yard looking very neat and tidy. Jose was responsive, friendly and professional throughout the process. I thought the service somewhat expensive but admit I didn't do any shopping around for a price comparison.

At their initial visit two months ago they weeded and cleaned the flower beds. They then fully edged around the lawn and raked the flower beds. They did a great job at a very fair price. They now mow the lawn twice a month. They are on time, do it well and clean up everything. We couldn't ask for for more professional company.

It was a wonderful day when I signed them on as they have just 'handled' anything that I've needed done to my property with ease. What a relief to just know that things will be taken care of no matter what. I never have to worry if they will show up when promised and what sort of work they will do. It's always timely and as directed.

Our front, side and back yard was, in just over a year, completely covered in weeds, leaves, small branches and debris! Though we had done the whole thing about 16 months before, the weeds and junk came back with a vengeance. We had not used any kind of herbicide to prevent re-growth. Big mistake! We decided to use Angies List once again to find a reliable company to take care of this huge problem. The first company to come out was Jose's Landscape Service. Jose himself came to do the estimate and once he told us how much he needed to charge, we hired his company on the spot. We negotiated the start date and they actually started before the agreed date after a phone call to confirm it was ok. A job as large as this was thought to require at least a week. Jose and his crew completed the task in just days. The crew was hard working and courteous. No workers wanting to use the bathroom or leaving trash around (like those we've used before) the yard. Of all the services we've used over the years, Jose's team was by far the best in every way. This time, I put down Caseron(sic) in the hope that the growth will not return so quickly. If, or when it does, we'll call Jose's Landscape Service!

Everything went well. From the estimate to completion it was all handled professionally. The task that we had for them was difficult. The entire backyard was overrun with blackberries. They understood the scope of the project and clearly understood our expectations. They cut them down and cleared the backyard with dramatic results and faster than expected. I wish I could post a before and after photo, so you could see the difference. I recommend them to anyone who needed some serious yard cleanup!

First of all, BEWARE BEWARE, YOUR YARD MAY BE DEVASTATED WHEN YOU COME HOME! I'm still really mad at these guys, will probably take some sort of action. --The mow edge blow was pretty standard. For just that it's in and out in 20 minutes - like a blink of an eye. --I would add that the "blow" portion was without regard for flowers or anything that might fall over and die due to the strong wind. Many flowers killed due to broken stems. -- Their idea of "weeding" is taking a weed eater to 'em - that means ANYWHERE they can get that weed eater, they will - flower beds, raised beds, beds with tree saplings, USING HANDS WAS OBVIOUSLY NOT A SERVICE PROVIDED. So many plants killed. --PLANTS KILLED: Very old lavender bushes taking up a 10x10 corner of the yard "trimmed" down to old stems...hello!? Do any of you realize that old woody branches doesn't produce new growth?!? This is a huge loss. Jose didn't even offer to do anything to make up for this gross negligence. --MORE PLANTS KILLED: We grow native plants and told Jose many times what NOT to touch. Nonetheless, the weed wacker killed a wild ginger plant, numerous tree saplings and nearly decimated a few oregon grape bushes. Oregon grape recovered, but the ginger and trees were GONE. --THEY moved the sprinkler onto the deck, the timer went on later AND SPRINKLED WATER FOR 30 MINUTES INTO A ROOM WITH AN OPEN WINDOW STORING OLD COMICS. Yeah. Really unbelievable. That was it - we fired them and didn't pay the last bill. I'm still really mad about all of this.
