"Was the only contractor that called me back right away. Scheduled an appt on the phone. Got the project completed before the time frame he suggested. Very friendly. Showed many different jobs he has done. Those photos are amazing. Always a bit early every day to make sure the guys knew what they were doing for the day. Would totally use these guys again."

"This was our second major remodel project. Accordingly, we had a better idea of what to expect in terms of the overall remodeling process. Pete Lange, owner, was excellent to deal with - he is very fair minded and endeavors to create happy clients. Pete provided overall project oversight, materials ordering, and communication. Sean was assigned by Pete as his overall project manager and did good work during both demolition and various rebuild activities. In addition, we appreciated Sean's attention to daily cleanliness in keeping our home as clean as possible during the work project. Pete also scheduled his subcontractors in a well coordinated manner. Particularly good work was performed by his drywall & painting subcontractor, as well as his tile floor/shower tile subcontractor. All in all, strong execution by Excel General Contracting. We are now also having Pete quote on an additional project for us given this performance."

"I can't say enough good things about Yariel. We have used different contractors for remodeling condos for sale, but I will only use Yariel Bello going forward. He is detail conscious, creative with selecting products, and incredibly efficient. He finished an extensive remodel early, with everything completed beyond my expectations. His work included full bathroom remodel, painting, baseboards, doors, electrical, kitchen appliances, sinks, countertops, plumbing. If you are looking for someone to get a condo ready for sale, or to move in, look no further than Bello Home Solutions."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

British architect John Nash is credited with creating the Italianate style of architecture. The style was further popularized in the U.S. by landscape architect Andrew Jackson Downing and architect Calvert Vaux. The style spread across the U.S. due to Downing’s popular book on the style and the availability of plans and materials due to the mass production of the Industrial Revolution.

You have three options in terms of professionals who can draw up blueprints: a draftsperson, an architect, or a structural engineer. A draftsperson can sometimes draw up plans for new construction, but they more often work from approved plans for alterations or to provide 3D drawings. Architects are usually the best option for standard residential construction projects. Structural engineers might be necessary for custom home builds or for alterations that could affect your home’s structural integrity. Draftsmen cost the least of the three, followed by architects and then structural engineers.

The costs depend on the type of wood, labor, roofing material, permits, and whether additional storage or enclosed walls are included.

The cost to draw house plans typically ranges from $800 to $2,700, with standard blueprints averaging around $1,800. For a custom home, the cost is higher, with blueprints often falling between $5,000 and $20,000, and potentially more for very complex designs. Several factors influence the total price, including the project's size, the number of rooms, the type of drawings required, and the architect's experience level. You may also need to pay a structural engineer to ensure building safety, particularly for custom homes.

Adequate storage, workspaces, and energy-efficient systems are key considerations.
