"It is with deep satisfaction that I recommend Grady?s Painting and Plastering & Construction. Mr. George Grady is a skilled craftsman. He was hired to correct long neglected and extensive masonry and window issues on a large, beautiful Presbyterian Church built in the Civil War era in Philadelphia. The property was neglected with only minimal maintenance performed over the last 40+ years. The building was in severe decline and in need of stabilization and restoration on many fronts. Cracked ledge plates were chipped out and reestablished, internal walls damaged by leakage were broken out and repaired, brickwork was repointed and in severe cases reestablished to original strength and beauty. Leaks around the base of the building were addressed to stabilize deterioration of the foundation. Large rotted window sills under beautiful stained glass windows were restored after significant masonry reestablishment due to water damage under the rotted out sills. Broken and missing stained glass windows are in the process of repair and replacement. The process started with new metal frames cast by Mr. Grady. The new frames will hold clear painted replications of the original stained glass, also crafted by Mr. Grady. Regular windows all around the church and manse were also repaired and restored. Roof leaks were accurately identified and repaired. A sagging plaster ceiling has been torn out and restored. All this work was done by Mr. Grady alone or with an occasional helper. He worked with care, expertise and respect for the original structure. The results far exceeded our expectations and have injected new life into a building on the brink. This building, owned by the Presbytery of Philadelphia, now houses a new urban ministry in a newly gentrifying area of the city. "Anthony and his team installed a kitchen exhaust and new chimney hood. The overall work was good but could not give 5 stars due to minor details (slight exposed hole in ceiling, flex duct used instead of solid construction, a leftover loose tile). Important to consider Anthony's price came in lower than others so the install was a bargain. Would recommend if you don't mind little details and want a job done quickly and affordably."

"Juan Carlos came to see the room to provide an estimate. All we had to do was select colors for walls, ceiling and trim and he took care of purchasing paints and supplies. The work was completed in 1.5 days. We will never paint ourselves again. Juan Carlos did such a good job that we plan to call him again to paint other rooms in the house."

We had water leaking from the ceiling light onto the countertop in our kitchen. It lasted for a minute or two and then stopped. We took immediate advantage of an Angie's List plumbing special ($99 for $200 worth of plumbing) and arranged for DM Services to come investigate the next day. A nice plumber came and spent over an hour investigating. No source of the water was ever determined. It hasn't happened again, fortunately.

After a couple calls, I still haven't been advised on how much the visit cost (do I have a credit remaining or not?) It would be helpful to have a receipt of some kind. I've been told the company merged with another company since then.

"Our 28 year old home was in dire need of updated bathrooms and we contacted KDK Home Improvements through researching of Angie's List.  Our planned bath updates snowballed to include additional work which wasn't in the initial plan, but was very obviously needed as we progressed.  Dave Kammerude was very accomodating and understanding with each phase and introduced us to very competent plumber(Tommy Anglin), electrician (Mike Renfro) and carpenter (which happens to be his brother Jeff Heflin of New Shelter Construction).  All of these guys were a pleasure to work with and even they, along with Dave, have put in weekend days to get the job complete to accomodate our schedules and the completion of this major renovation project.  Jeff of New Shelter Construction installed new tongue and groove ceiling and skylights in our great room, wood paneling in our hallway and installed new windows and doors and wood flooring.  He did an excellent job and was very fast in completing each job.  Our thanks to Dave for introducing us to Jeff  and Tommy and Mike, too.  Dave did a beautiful job of resealing our logs in the great room of our home after he and Jeff used a "cornblaster" to remove years of dirt and dust to reveal beautiful wood underneath. Our project is nearing completion after three months of work and Dave has been an excellent communicator throughout the whole process. He will be coming back to do a kitchen backsplash and some additional exterior painting.  He went the extra mile in procuring materials and researching so that our home looks great!  We will recommend and  use him in the future."

"Juan Carlos is the kind of contractor that some people refer to as "my guy" because my guy can do just about anything I throw at him. But he's more than a contractor that you call my guy. Juan Carlos takes pride in his work. He listens carefully to my needs, answers all of my questions, explains his process, sets expectations, and is amazing at making sure I'm happy with the final product. I believe his prices are fair, his ability to stay on time is excellent, and I have full confidence in all of his abilities. But perhaps my favorite quality, is his personal touch. After each project, he calls to ensure I'm happy. He has come to know my family by name and asks about them often. And after completing my master, he showed his excitement by gifting us our first towel set to hang in the new bathroom! My wife was most excited when he suggested and created a little nook in the corner of the shower just so that she could easily shave her legs. He thinks of everything! I should also share that Juan Carlos not only helped me renovate my master bathroom, but he has also helped me renovate my powder room and helped me repair a leak in my ceiling from a third bathroom, among other things.
