"A simple replacement of the door to my shop outbuilding turned into an all day affair. Troy ended up having to take apart the sheet metal siding around the door of the shop in order to remove the door and then had to cut some of the siding in order to get everything back on after the new door was installed. He was constantly improvising as they ran into a constant barrage of issues. The finished product was great and should last longer than the 6 years of the original product."

"8 years ago I purchased a house that was under renovation and had brand new Windows by Anderson. Within 6 months I realized that they were not doing their job and on the advice of a friend I called AAPCO to come out and explain to me why I was losing so much heat. The explanation I was given made sense so I replaced 13 windows with AAPCO windows and I never looked back. The workers were punctual, respectful of my property, did their job professionally and cleaned up behind themselves. I no longer lose heat or air conditioning and the tilt-in feature makes them so easy to clean. The staff at AAPCO is very helpful and will work with you. It's hard to find a company these days that does what they tell you they're going to do and stands behind their work. This company does."

"I live in an attached home. He came and checked the painting, gave me an estimate and then started painting. He did an outstanding job. He caulked everything that needed it, he pointed out to me everything that needs to be taken care of and he even painted my front door, which is awesome."

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

Whether it's better to repair or replace a broken mirror depends on its size, value, and the extent of the damage. For small, inexpensive mirrors, replacement is often the better choice, as the average repair cost of around $200 can be close to the price of a new one. However, for large mirrors—like those over a bathroom vanity or large floor mirrors—repair is usually more cost-effective. A new large mirror can cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars, while repairs typically range from $50 to $200. You should also consider the mirror's age and sentimental value. Antique mirrors and family heirlooms are often priceless and irreplaceable, making repair the most sensible or only option.

Hard water stains are caused by hard water. Hard water contains a lot of minerals, like calcium and magnesium. When water on your glass surfaces dries out, the minerals stay behind and stick to the glass. This results in a residue that looks like white cloudy or streaky spots. Call a pro to install a water softener to banish hard water problems.

Standard mirrors come in many different shapes, sizes, and thicknesses, so you can often find a great fit for your space without adding customizations. Custom mirrors are ideal if your space has very specific constraints. For instance, you may need a much longer or wider mirror than you can find in a standard mirror. You might also want a custom mirror if you have particular styling preferences, such as a frame with a specific finish or a unique edge.

There are a couple of different mirrors that can make a small bathroom look bigger. If you need a functional mirror in the space, choose a frameless option instead of a mirror with thick or intricate framing. Heavy frames can make the space feel cluttered. Additionally, you can swap a large mirror with small frameless mirrors to create the illusion of more wall space.

Rubbing alcohol on its own will not remove scratches from glass. You can, however, combine rubbing alcohol with baking soda—in a one-to-one mixed ratio—to create a paste that will help get minor scratches out of glass.
