"This was an emergency situation. A toilet & sink were backing up. I called them around 7:00 pm. They were here by 8:00 pm. The plumber, Martin, was very polite & knowledgeable. I did not have time to shop prices, so I can't effectively rate the amount charged (although the survey instrument requires a rating). I appreciated the help at my mom's house. It was an emergency & they came through without delay."

"Trevor solved the problem with our shower drain pipe. We consulted a lot of plumbers before him but they could not figure out what to do and so overpriced. Trevor worked on it on the spot. He is great! 5.0 is not enough. TRPlumbing will always be our go-to company for all our plumbing projects or issues."

Mustang Home Services was founded on a lifetime of service, hard work, and earning trust the right way.\nAfter 27 years in the United States Navy, our founder retired as a Chief Warrant Officer, having worked his way up from the most junior enlisted rank. That journey shaped everything Mustang Home Services stands for—discipline, accountability, and respect for the people you serve. Nothing was handed over; every milestone was earned through consistency, leadership, and getting the job done right.\nThe name Mustang is a nod to that path. In the Navy, a Mustang is someone who rises through the enlisted ranks and earns a commission—someone who understands the work at every level and leads by example. That same mindset drives how we serve our customers today: hands‑on, knowledgeable, and committed to excellence without shortcuts.\nAfter spending most of a military career moving from duty station to duty station, we made the decision to finally put down roots and call Virginia Beach home. Toilets questions, answered by experts

Yes, a bathroom remodel is a worthwhile home improvement project that typically adds value to your home, offering a return on investment (ROI) between 60% and 70%. Potential buyers look closely at bathrooms and kitchens, as these are often the most expensive rooms to renovate. A modern, updated bathroom is more appealing and assures buyers that the plumbing, fixtures, and flooring have a long, useful life ahead. Beyond the financial return, a remodel can also greatly increase your day-to-day satisfaction by creating a more inviting, spa-like space. Even a basic refresh with new paint and accessories can make a significant difference.

While gasket-sealed PVC flanges are the type most commonly found in homes, flanges come in a range of different materials, including copper, brass, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum, that pros sometimes secure with glue. If this is the case in your bathroom, the replacement is a job better left to the pros.

You should choose the type of toilet that meets your budget, fits properly in your space, and matches the rest of your decor. If you’ve never gone toilet shopping before, you might be surprised at how many options are available. Most homeowners choose a two-piece toilet, which is the industry standard, and a gravity flush system is the most common. However, dual-flush and low-flush toilets are becoming more prevalent as more people become conscious of water consumption.

Yes, a toilet, sink, and shower can share the same vent. This is a common plumbing practice that can simplify installation and save space. When sharing a vent, it's important that the toilet is located downstream from all other fixtures. You will also need to ensure the vent pipe is large enough to handle the demands of all connected fixtures without compromising its effectiveness. Because requirements can vary, you should always check your local building and plumbing codes. Consulting a qualified plumber is recommended to ensure the vent is properly sized, installed, and adheres to all local regulations.

Yes, you can pour water down the toilet to help it flush. For each flush, you’ll need 1 to 2 gallons of water for newer toilets or 3 to 5 gallons of water for older toilets. Rather than dumping the entire bucket in all at once, pour the water in slowly for the best results. If you’re pouring water down the toilet to help it flush after a clog, only use 1 gallon of hot water.
