"Trevor solved the problem with our shower drain pipe. We consulted a lot of plumbers before him but they could not figure out what to do and so overpriced. Trevor worked on it on the spot. He is great! 5.0 is not enough. TRPlumbing will always be our go-to company for all our plumbing projects or issues."

"Gregsher Plumbing, and specifically Greg, provided exceptional service when I needed help with a plumbing issue at my home. I was impressed with how quickly and efficiently Greg fixed the problem. He arrived on time and wasted no time in assessing and resolving the issue. One of the standout qualities was Greg's ability to access a tight crawl space to complete the job. Despite the difficult and cramped conditions, Greg navigated through it with ease, showcasing his expertise and problem-solving skills. I also appreciated Greg's attention to cleanliness. After completing the repairs, he made sure to clean up the work area, leaving it in a better condition than he found it. Overall, I highly recommend Gregsher Plumbing for any plumbing needs. Greg's promptness, ability to access tight spaces, and commitment to cleanliness make him an outstanding plumber."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

There are a few reasons why this could be the case. More than likely, your flapper is worn out and needs to be replaced. When it’s worn out, it lowers the water pressure during each flush leading to inefficient flushing. Luckily, replacing a toilet flapper is a simple repair that should only take about 30 minutes.

To keep your toilet in good working order, replace the toilet fill valve every five years. Toilets get quite a workout, so while toilet maintenance may not be on top of your to-do list, it’s essential to keep up with it to ensure your toilet is in good working order and ready when needed.

No, your toilet tank should not empty completely when you flush. Although the water level will dip a lot after you flush, it shouldn’t be totally empty. If your tank is empty, you might have issues with your fill valve, float ball, or toilet trip lever. You should check all of your toilet parts to ensure they’re working correctly and make any necessary adjustments.

Yes, frozen pipes can cause a toilet to stop working correctly. If the pipes are frozen, water cannot flow, which can lead to two main problems. First, the supply line to the toilet tank may be frozen, which prevents the tank from refilling with water after you flush. Second, the drain pipe itself can freeze, blocking water from flushing away. As a temporary solution for a non-refilling tank, you can manually add water, but this is not a long-term fix. To clear a frozen drain pipe, you can try pouring warm water into the toilet bowl or tank and then flushing, as the warm water may help thaw the ice blockage. Ultimately, the best course of action is to unfreeze the affected pipes to restore your toilet to full functionality.

Yes, you should caulk a toilet to the floor for several reasons. Bathrooms are constantly wet—and if water splashes out of your shower and collects on your floor, you don’t want it seeping underneath your toilet, where it could potentially cause damage. Plus, caulk adds stability and helps prevent your toilet from wobbling.
