"They have only completed half the house because extreme weather conditions (snow and ice) prevented them from coming back as planned. They will return to complete the job next week. They cleaned our upper two floors thoroughly including shampooing carpets. The windows were not quite as clean as I would have liked but they still did a good job. They began on the kitchen but did not get to finish. I can give a better report after January 13th"

"The Chimney Cleaning crew arrived a few minutes early for their appointment and spoke with my wife and me about the chimney cleaning project. They explained what they needed to do and my wife offered to let them use her plastic painting cover 'cloths to protect the carpet near the fireplace. They inspected the chimney cap and the spark arrestor, then proceeded to efficiently clean the fireplace, the flue and the spark arrestor and rain guard. The two technicians were informed, conversational and polite. I felt confident that they would do a good job and leave my house cleaner than when they arrived! Their chimney video camera was broken."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

In Roanoke, watch for carpet edges lifting, fraying near doorways, or seams separating—these can indicate subfloor moisture or humidity-related problems common in local basements. Ripples, buckling, or uneven spots may signal foundation settling, especially in older brick homes. Addressing these early with a flooring contractor helps prevent widespread carpet replacement or mold issues, which are more likely with Roanoke’s variable climate.

Helpful?

If your carpet in Roanoke is over 7-10 years old, has stubborn red clay stains, persistent odors, or visible matting in main walkways, it’s time to consider carpet replacement. Homes near high-traffic zones or with pets may need updates sooner. Booking a local flooring contractor in spring or fall ensures better availability and smoother installation, especially during peak moving seasons.

Helpful?

In Roanoke, schedule immediate carpet installation if you notice loose carpeting on stairs, water damage after heavy rain, or tripping hazards in high-traffic areas—these are safety concerns that worsen with the region’s frequent humidity. Minor fraying or fading in guest rooms can wait. For best results, coordinate projects for late spring or early fall, when local flooring contractors have optimal scheduling and weather conditions.

Helpful?

New carpet installation in Roanoke often enhances home value and attracts buyers, especially in family rooms and bedrooms. Neutral tones and durable padding are favored in the area, appealing to both families and professionals. Updated flooring stands out in Roanoke’s competitive real estate market, and professional installation signals quality, making your home more appealing during open houses and showings.

Helpful?

In Roanoke, carpet installation for a single room typically takes 4-6 hours, while a whole house project (around 1,500 sq ft) is usually finished in 1-2 days. If subfloor repairs or moisture remediation are needed, expect longer timelines, especially in older homes. Most local flooring contractors offer furniture moving, and Roanoke’s experienced crews help keep projects on schedule.
