"Bassel was very professional. On time, tidy, polite and fair price. He replaced the glass panels for a few of my windows. No surprises. He showed up, measured and ordered the replacement glass. One week later he returned with the new glass and inserted them in. Like brand new. I highly recommend."

"They came out to give me an estimate on a new sliding glass door without me having to be present. Then they contacted me and also sent me via email a copy of the estimate and went over any questions I had. They were able to install that week (which I did need right away). They were on time, neat, cleared out everything, friendly, and the price for the work they did was great. They did an excellent job. Wish I would have known of them last year when I needed two windows replaced. I will be using them for any future work that I need."

"I do not often write reviews, but I feel exemplary service should be recognized. Roland of Star Home Improvements did a great job advising me on sliding glass door replacement. When the door replacement quoted was not available he ordered a more expensive door at no cost- showing integrity in his business practices. Not many companies would stand behind their estimate in the same situation. Install went smoothly and team arrived on time and cleaned up afterwards. I highly recommend Star Home Improvements."

"Presidential Exteriors is a well-managed company. We had twenty-five, very large, windows, two large sliding glass doors and the front door replaced. Everyone, starting with the young man who approached us to talk about the company, the salespeople and the team doing the work was professional, polite, honest, pleasant and super careful. The windows, sliding glass doors and the front door look amazing. Our house is fifty-two-years old and badly needed to be "refreshed". The quality of their products is excellent. While the work was being done, several people from the company came by to check on the progress. After the job was completed, we met with Ben who came by to do a final inspection and answer any questions or concerns we may have. The crew cleaned up and vacuumed before they left. We will use Presidential Exteriors again to replace another door."

Gold Anchor Exteriors is a veteran-owned exterior remodeling company serving Northern Virginia, specializing in roofing, window replacement, siding, and exterior repairs.\nBefore starting Anchor Remodeling, I served as CEO of a large Mid-Atlantic contracting company, managing high-volume projects. That experience showed me where many companies fall short prioritizing speed and sales over quality.\nWe focus on:\nComplete roofing systems, not just shingles\nProper installation and code compliance\nClear scopes and transparent pricing\nNo high-pressure sales tactics\nHomeowners choose us because we communicate clearly, show up on time, and stand behind our work.\nIf you’re looking for the cheapest option, we may not be the right fit. If you want a reliable contractor who does the job right the first time, we’re here to help.

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can hire someone to hang a mirror in your home if you’re unable to tackle the job yourself. You can search for nearby mirror installers, but often, your best bet is a local handyperson. If you’re having other work done in the same room, such as plumbing, drywall, or electrical, those contractors are likely able to help hang the mirror as well—no need to hire someone else.

Wall-to-wall mirrors have fallen out of popularity in recent years and have several drawbacks. They take up a lot of space, which can overwhelm small bathrooms. If you like the look, a wall of reflective medicine cabinets can add storage. Just keep in mind that a wall of mirrors requires more maintenance because smudges and splashes are more visible than on a wall.

The best way to transport wine glasses is to pack them upright in a divided, padded box designed specifically for stemware. First, wrap each glass individually with bubble wrap or packing paper, ensuring both the bowl and the delicate stem are cushioned. If you don't have a divided box, you can still pack them safely. After wrapping each glass and securing the material with tape, place them upright in a sturdy box. Layer soft items like dish towels, crumpled paper, or clothing between the glasses to prevent them from touching. Fill any remaining gaps with additional padding to keep the glasses snug and prevent shifting. Finally, clearly label the box as “FRAGILE GLASSWARE” or “FRAGILE–HANDLE WITH CARE” to ensure careful handling.

The best way to pack mirrors is to use specially padded cartons or boxes made for mirrors. Be sure to thoroughly wrap the fragile mirror in padded paper or bubble wrap before sliding it into its box. That way, there’s a protective barrier in between the mirror and the box. Then, fill in any gaps with crumpled paper or additional packing materials.

The height of a mirror behind a vanity depends on several factors, including the height of the vanity, the placement of the faucet (on the wall or countertop), and the height of the faucet. A good rule of thumb is to hang the mirror 5 to 10 inches above the vanity’s highest point. However, you may need to lower the mirror based on the vanity size and overhead lighting placement.
