We work with pressure treated lumber, cedar, redwood, IPE and all hardwoods. We have years of experience cleaning Trex and all composite decking. "Alfredo and his team (Jose, then Pablo) did an excellent job in fixing many cracks in two bedrooms-turned-home offices, then sanding and painting the walls, ceilings, trim, and closets. They also patched a hole in the basement ceiling that a plumber left from a previous job. Alfredo is a smart and passionate business owner and does his work with quality and care. He estimated that the job would take 5 days, and it was completed in 4 with no corners being cut. They all were friendly and customer-focused throughout the job, and they were helpful in moving furniture that we were not able to do beforehand. I was impressed that Alfredo himself was here the entire time and didn't leave to work on other jobs during the day. I would absolutely work with Alfredo and Solis/Wall Covering Country in the future and have several projects in the queue right now. The estimate was higher than the other two I received, but I was not convinced that I would receive the same quality of work and excellent customer service with the less-expensive firms. I’ll add that I had four other companies quote labor/materials for staining the deck and fence, along with replacing warped or damaged boards. Worgens quote was fair and reasonable in comparison to the other estimates I received. Worgens painters did an excellent job with the repairs, even patching up areas that were not discussed during the labor estimation process. Additionally, the painters had great attention to detail, applying two layers of high quality stain to the deck and fence. I’m very impressed with the results, and have received compliments from my neighbors as well. I only have one minor complaint that prevents a five star rating. The quote promises that anything removed from the deck will be put back in its original place. This did not happen, and several debris such as residual wood, screws, and old hardware were left scattered throughout the yard. Exterior painting services FAQs
You should paint your home exterior every five to 10 years, on average. Climate and surroundings can affect how well paint holds up. Wood siding will likely need a fresh coat of paint every three to seven years. Paint on brick tends to last about eight to 17 years, on average.
Calculate the square footage of the area you want to paint. Divide the square footage by 350 (the average square footage a gallon of paint covers). Multiply the number of gallons you need by two, as you’ll likely be applying two coats of paint. For a more accurate estimate, subtract the square footage of the windows and doors from the initial square footage total. It’s a good idea to plan for an extra gallon of paint to make sure you have enough to finish the job.
To calculate the square footage of a home exterior, painters multiply the length of the wall by the height of the wall to be painted. Then they add the total square footage for all of the walls to be painted. To calculate the price, they multiply the total square footage by their cost per square foot to prep and paint. Additional costs may factor in such as repairs, additional trim, and walls higher than the first story.
The cost to paint the exterior of a house ranges from $1,900 to $4,500 or about $1.50 to $4 per square foot, depending on the size, height, and complexity of the home layout. Other cost factors include your location, the type of siding (e.g., wood, aluminum, brick, stucco, etc.), and the kind of paint (e.g. oil-based, latex, acrylic, etc.). Painting the trim a different color or painting intricately designed trim can also increase the cost.
You should apply at least two coats of paint when painting the exterior of your house. Two coats of paint provides better durability and more even coverage than just one coat.
