ACR had good reviews on Angie's List, and a better price than Home Depot's refacing service, so I went with them. ACR did an outstanding job. They arranged for me to see a former client's kitchen to ease my fears about the quality of refacing, and worked extensively with me to get the features I wanted. Stuart, the owner, came out for my initial measurement appointment, since I'd asked for a few custom elements. Omar who oversees the project is extremely knowledgable, and answered all of my many detailed questions. They built exactly the pieces I wanted from sample pictures I showed them and my descriptions, including a wine cubby and bookshelf section in the wall cabinets and a pantry with all the custom elements I asked for. Jerimiah who did the installation was extremely meticulous, made all the adjustments I noted, and took the time get the project exactly right. It ended up taking longer than estimated, but I appreciated that he took the time to get it right, rather than done quickly. I feel that I got an outstanding project for the money."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/va/fairfax/american-cabinet-refacers-reviews-405540.htm"},"position":7},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Lofft Construction Inc","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"VA","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Eric W."},"reviewBody":"Overall, the work went very well. It began within days of its scheduled start time with demolition. The crew did their best to keep the rest of the house free of dust and debris. Our kitchen remodel was fairly simple, staying within the footprint of the existing kitchen-dining room areas, but removing the wall that used to separate them. The carpenters worked quickly to reinforce our subfloor by sistering the existing joists, building up the kitchen island and new walls to create the powder room; plumbers installed their pipes and fixtures fairly quickly. Of all the work done, the electrical work seemed least organized and professional. Gang boxes were installed in obviously wrong places, wiring had to be redone several times as it didn't go to the right places. The electrician Lofft put on our job had to come back again and again to fix his own work. In an otherwise solid job, I felt electrical was the weakest performer. It was needlessly time consuming and frustrating. Once the electrical work was done and the drywall went up, the cabinet installation could proceed. On the whole, this went well, but there were a few mistakes made, which I attribute to some of the crew members being less experienced than others. These mistakes -- hanging certain cabinets upside down, at the wrong height from the counter, incorrectly installing molding, were, for the most part, reversible, but time consuming. The good news, and this is I think Lofft's strength, is that all mistakes were fully acknowledged, never defensively, and Lofft sent crew back again and again until we were happy with the fixes. We've done various jobs around the house over the years with various contractors, and I would say that mistakes, construction surprises ( in an old house ) are inevitable. We were happy that Lofft always patiently was willing to make the fixes, without trying to tack on additional costs. Our granite countertops were farmed out to a subcontractor Lofft had previous experience with. In retrospect I don't think I got any better deal on this piece of the remodel than I would have had I gone through a major, big-box retailer like Lowe's. The cost was almost exactly the same, and the installation was not perfect. Despite measuring extensively, the granite contractor did not cut the backsplash correctly ( and never mentioned his mistake ). Painting and finish work was all fine. Lofft's work on our second project: refinishing floors and installing a new metal roof while integrating existing skylights went smoothly and I am happy with the work. On the whole, I am happy with Lofft's work. By comparison with the 4-5 other estimates we obtained, they were very reasonably priced, performed the work without any major problems, and we are happy with the results. The main manager/owner, Alex, is first-rate, responsive, patient, smart. Where we had the few problems mentioned above, he stayed in touch with us until we were happy, listening to our concerns, checking in regularly, making us feel that he wouldn't be happy until we were happy. That gave us great confidence, and made the experience a good one. Ultimately, the final product is one we are happy to have."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/dc/washington/lofft-construction-inc-reviews-269075.htm"},"position":8}]}

"If I could give this company a 6 out of 5 stars I would! They did a fantastic job overhauling my mother's deck, back patio, fencing, and front portico. All of the work was absolutely essential for safety and structural reasons, and I'm so glad I chose OSSA to do the work. My mother has Alzheimer's, which presented additional issues, but the entire crew was incredibly kind, respectful, and understanding of the unique challenges they faced. They were responsive and kept me aware of everything regarding the job along the way. My mother is so pleased, and I have the peace of mind that all of her outdoor space is safe, beautiful, and accessible. I will be hiring OSSA to do some work in my own home, as I look to make necessary improvements in the future. I've told everyone I know how how wonderful they are. 6 out of 5 stars!"

"The owner came out 7/10/25 to take a look at work to be done on my condo. Upon leaving he told me he would provide an estimate. That was 7/10/25. Today is 7/24 and I never heard from him. If he decided the work wasn't for him for whatever reasons, he should have told me he wasn't interested, not tell me he would get back to me with an estimate."

Amanda was our designer, Mark was the lead installer, and John was the project manager. All three of them provided welcome suggestions, good guidance and advice throughout the process… starting with clear and transparent service agreements. Select was very accommodating with scheduling and access to the house / workspaces. Questions were answered promptly by Amanda, Mark and John, and any concerns were addressed to our satisfaction. "I am giving All Renovations 5 stars for the basement renovation in large part because of Adrian’s excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail. Our job was pretty extensive. It included moving support columns, demo and rebuild exterior stairway, adding a full bath, extending the finished/framed portion of the basement, moving the circuit-breaker panel, and re-doing our half-bath. The job took 6 months, which was about twice as long as we expected. Omar was always very responsive and provided good feedback. Adrian is very good at explaining things and soliciting your input when options/alternatives exist. He definitely does not take short-cuts if quality would suffer. He is also very considerate/careful inside your home and cleans-up after himself. Our $102k project ballooned to $125k, mostly due to nice to have add-ons and unforeseen issues. But there were several items I feel should have been caught at the contract onset. E.g. the need for a floor drain ($900), considering that we were getting rid of the utility sink basin. There was also an extra $4k to replace the drywall in the half bath since the existing paint was too textured (sponge) to paint over. But we were very pleased with the outcome and would definitely recommend All Renovations."

"We just had the original kitchen in our 1968 house gutted and renewed by Vienna Prime Custom Kitchen & Bath (Prime Custom). BLUF: We highly recommend you consider them in your due diligence efforts to find a reliable & quality K&B contractor. Good internet reviews were a significant factor in selecting potential bidders for the refurbishment of our kitchen and two full bathrooms; that’s why we are submitting this robust positive feedback. In fact we are putting our money where our mouth is by awarding the refurbishment of our two main bathrooms to Prime Custom. These two combined projects are more costly than the kitchen was. Our procurement strategy was to hold back the bathrooms until they proved themselves with the kitchen. They came through in spades. Our kitchen journey from planning, contracting, detailed design, execution and final delivery was by no means a cakewalk but Prime Custom was an outstanding partner and delivered a quality product. We trust them! Believe me, we were a bigger “PitA” than any customer under the sun but Prime Custom Prime was collectively patient, understanding, informative and most importantly tolerant of their sometimes-antsy interior design challenged clueless customer. Their team, including an involved owner, consisted of Filiz the designer (PC Vienna), Nick the PM (PC Arlington), and several company employed skilled tradesmen in all disciplines, including the après project cleaning crew that were “the Best”. Even with a professional and organized contractor team doing quality work, the vagaries of ripping out and replacing a kitchen is a taxing psychological rollercoaster. Despite a detailed Statement of Work (SoW), there were lots of moving parts with so many big and small decisions throughout the project. Prime Custom did a masterful job “herding cats”. The project was 95% complete in three weeks and we were able to reclaim our new beautifulyl retooled kitchen by the middle of the fourth week. We did our homework. We developed three pages of bulletized line items, one for each room in our SoW. After interviewing a dozen K&B contractors including onsite visits and receiving half a dozen bids on our very comprehensive SoW, we culled the list down to three potential providers. Prime Custom matched the low bid for the kitchen with one contractor and the two bathrooms of another. We decided to go with Prime Custom with the hope of their doing all three rooms after they proved their worth on the kitchen. Our strategy has worked so far. We will update our review after Prime Custom completes the two bathrooms. It pays to be anal in working on home improvement project contracting, no matter how painful."

Kitchen Cabinet Refacing questions, answered by experts
The cost of cabinet refacing is $7,230 on average, but this price could range from $1,200 for a minor project or as much as $16,000 for refacing large custom cabinets. The number of cabinets along with the materials you use will determine the price.
For example, plastic laminate is the most cost-effective option, ranging from $1,000 to $3,000. However, if you want something more high-end, choosing solid wood doors will be more expensive, costing you between $5,000 and $10,000.
Even the least DIY-savvy homeowner can replace cabinet hardware themselves. All you need is a drill, screwdriver, and a tape measure. However, always take the time to measure and fit carefully. Misalignment or dodgy drill holes can spoil the entire look of your cabinet makeover, and repairs or replacement cabinets can be costly.
If you simply need to refresh the color of your cabinets, a coat of paint will make your entire room look brand-new. However, if your cabinet doors are damaged, you might consider cabinet refacing. Cabinet refacing involves replacing the doors, drawer fronts, and hardware, upgrading and repairing them. Consult a cabinet professional about the best option to upgrade your kitchen cabinetry.
If you're looking for ways to save money on custom cabinets, there are a few ways to cut costs without sacrificing beauty. For starters, comparing door styles to choose the most cost-effective option is a great way to save money on the overall project.
In addition, choosing a common wood species versus an exotic one will lower the price. Woods like oak and hickory are often more affordable wood choices, and the same goes for knobs, pulls, and other finishes where picking a commonly available style can reduce costs.
No, you don’t have to remove your countertops to reface cabinets. Since refacing involves updating the doors, drawer fronts, and exterior surfaces, your existing countertops can stay right where they are, making the process quicker, cleaner, and less disruptive.
