"Technician Shane Moore and his helper Chris did a phenomenal job unclogging a very, very clogged drainage pipe at our house. After hours of sweat and hard work they were successful at unclogging years of sludge from the pipe! This was the second time that Shane has come to our rescue! He is a wonderful man and we appreciate all of his hard work and professionalism!"

"Allen and Justin (Blacksburg location) did their work late on a Friday afternoon without any complaints. They were efficient and I felt like they were honest in their assessment and repair advice. They walked me through almost everything and gave advice on how to extend the water heater life."

"If you need somebody to so the job right, call Mike. He came to do the estimate when he said he would, gave us an accurate estimate, did the work when he said he would, and did it very, very well. We are selling our home and Mike transformed the yard from something nice to a showplace. I'd hire him again in an instant."

"Fantastic company! They returned my phone call the same day, came to my house to give me an estimate 2 days later (they would have been out the next day, but that didn't work with my schedule), and then I hired them. They did all the work while I was at work so I drove up to a beautifully clean yard! What I was particularly impressed with was how they left my yard. They said when they gave me the estimate that they would probably have to leave some of the stumps but would get as close to the ground as possible. If there are still stumps, I don't know where they are! I have since installed mulch beds and planted flowers where the overgrown bushes were, with zero complications. I can't wait for them to come out and do my backyard.

Small jobs welcome

"I hired coastal landscape construction to install a concrete walk way on my new construction house and couldn’t be happier with the finished product and the company. Bobby was professional and very easy to work with, his crew was skilled, and they left the jobsite cleaner than when he got there. After working with a lot of contractors building this house I can’t say enough good things about this company. Highly recommend"

"Eric and his guys did a great job. First thing I noticed is Eric is extremely responsive and prompt. Second thing is he explained everything in depth with options. Finally the job itself was great. I had a backyard that had pretty much turned into a mess from mud and poor drainage. Water would just sit for weeks on end to the point that it would start to stink. He made several drainage adjustments to my back yard to include installing a french drain and then I had a hardscape patio installed in place of the the constant sloppy mud I have had for years. The finished product was great I certainly would give it 5 stars and recommend him."

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on clog severity, pipe condition, equipment required, and labor.

Your sewer line can get grimy quickly. To prevent sludge buildup in your sewer line, pour a mixture of 1/3 cup of vinegar and 1/3 cup of baking soda down each drain in your home once a month. After about 30 minutes, flush the drain with hot water.

Some plumbers recommend 3/4 cup of bleach instead to clean any germs and bacteria that may build up in your sewer line. But this won’t break down any active clogs, and it cannot be combined with vinegar, as the mixture will create a toxic, hazardous gas.

With a one-way cleanout, you can access your sewer line from one direction. Depending on the way it curves, a plumber can either access the side of the pipe that goes into your home or the side that goes to your yard. On the other hand, two-way cleanouts allow pros to access both sides of the sewer line, thanks to their dual-pipe design (they’re usually U-shaped).

Yes, continuing to flush a clogged toilet is not likely to break up the clog. Instead, it will continue to put pressure on the clog while filling the bowl with more water, which can potentially cause the toilet to overflow—leading to an even bigger mess. Rather than repeatedly flushing, use a toilet plunger or plumber’s snake to dislodge the clog.

A saturated leach field can result from various underlying issues, so it's best to call a professional septic company to diagnose and treat the problem. Depending on the cause of the saturation, potential fixes include pumping out a full septic tank, adding more bacteria to the tank, or regrading the soil to fix low spots. It may also be necessary to reroute rainwater and runoff away from the leach field using gutters, downspouts, and extenders. Once the primary issue is resolved, planting specific types of vegetation over the area can help absorb excess water. In more severe cases, you might need to install a larger septic tank or replace the leach field entirely.
