"Briggs Heating and Cooling has been our go to provider since we renovated our home in 2005. They are experienced, supremely responsive and personable professionals who truly care about their customers. They go out of their way to get it right. We have trusted them so much that we introduced them to my elderly parents’ home years ago. My parents have adopted them ever since. We have had several projects this year alone, some routine maintenance, some much more complicated. Each project was handled the same way. First, my parents have an old AC and “Trevor’s guys” come out every year to service it. Their gas heater required a new switch which, because it was an old unit, took a lot of effort to find and replace. Next, our newer AC had a valve malfunction, and Briggs’ went way out of their way to properly diagnose the problem. As a precaution, we received a second opinion. Not only did Briggs’ diagnose the problem properly, they fixed it at about a quarter of the cost that the other service provider would have charged. Most recently, a couple of weeks ago, a leak was detected in my parents’ newly installed gas fireplace logs which Briggs had not installed. They met me at my parents’s home within an hour and had it repaired in another hour. And their prices are always extremely reasonable. This is small business done right. In northern Virginia, they are a breath of fresh air."

"Initially was called to check lack of cooling from system. They responded same day within a couple of hours. A leak was found in the condenser. We were given multiple options, all reasonably priced. Because of the age of the system and changes in the technology, we opted for a complete new system. They got the old system working at no cost so we would be comfortable in the heat before the new system arrived. They arrived as scheduled, removed the old system with no mess, surprisingly as it was an attic unit and had the new system in working in less than 8 hours. Everything was explained on operating the new unit, all aspects of the installation were first rate an the new system is working superbly."

Everything that Fred Ouellette explained during the estimate visit a month earlier was right on. after the installation they took the time to explain the new thermostat until we were comfortable with operating it. After they left, I took one more look around the house and noticed they forgot to put putty around the opening of the house were the pipes and wire entered. i thought no big deal i'll just get some and do it myself, about an hour later, Matt rang the doorbell and said he saw the putty in the truck when he got back to the office and on his way home from a long days work stopped by to finish the job. "Very pleased. Our 18 year old AC unit needed a charge. Aside from the fact that R-22 is almost extinct, the unit ran fairly well for a builder grade 10 seer. R-22 is quite costly these days. Service call was made with a fast response during a busy period. The unit was charged and inspected and the house cooled down. During the inspection it was noted that the gas furnace was rusted to a point where the gas valve had to be turned off. Time for a new system. AC and furnace replaced. There was one minor glitch but it was resolved. This glitch was no fault of the installers. The unit is up and running perfectly. There was no up selling. I had done my research and chose a system within our budget that would work well and it does. I chose Pope’s because a few years back they came out and gave me advice on my DIY thermostat replacement with no charge. I wrote a review back then and said I would call them when I needed service. They seem to operate under the radar - no TV advertising as far as I know. Their price is fair and I will be calling them shortly again to replace a gas water heater. Thanks"
