"Avert Radon LLC , specifically Chance, recently completed radon mitigation work at my residence, installing two systems. I typically refrain from writing reviews, but felt compelled to share my experience with Avert Radon LLC . I'm extremely satisfied with the results, as the radon levels are now virtually undetectable. Chance demonstrated exceptional professionalism throughout the process. The communication was excellent, and their meticulous attention to detail was also outstanding. Furthermore, their post-installation follow-up has been consistently excellent. I highly recommend this company without reservation. They are among the best service providers I've encountered. if I could give it more than five stars, I certainly would!"

"Project went very well. Horace and Vic showed up on schedule, explained clearly what they would be doing, kept me apprised of the progress as the job was performed, and walked me through the results. I was a bit surprised by the price for the work, but this was the only company that responded and committed to do the work, so I really don't have a good comparison price point. Note that the process was NOT mudjacking, but jacking and reinforcement with a poly product that offers many benefits over mudjacking."

"I do have a problem having people come into my house and do work because i normally do most of my own work. But this company was very polite and very professional and the quality of their work stands for themselves. their sales rep treated me like an intelligent individual unlike any other companies. the crew was very polite, cleaned up after themselves, friendly and even picked up their cigarettes butts which i appreciate because i am a non smoker. it's been a year and i have had no leaks even during heavy rain and i am very happy with the work."

Biohazard Remediation questions, answered by experts

Mold on windows forms due to excess moisture from condensation, poor ventilation, or leaks. Cold glass surfaces can attract condensation, especially in winter. High indoor humidity, lack of airflow, or dust accumulation are also contributors. To prevent mold growth, improve ventilation, regularly clean sills, and consider using a dehumidifier or sealing any leaks.

The cost to remove mold can vary depending on where mold is growing. Areas that are more difficult to access, such as attics, can cost more than spaces with easier access. Additionally, finished spaces with finer materials can cost more to repair once the mold has been removed. Some of the most common mold remediation areas and costs include:

  • Attic: $1,000–$7,000

  • Basement: $500–$3,000

  • Crawlspace: $500–$2,000

  • Walls: $1,000–$20,000

  • HVAC: $3,000–$10,000

  • Bathroom: $500–$1,000

  • Air duct: $600–$2,000

  • Whole house: $10,000–$30,000

To remove mold from kitchen cabinets, use a homemade solution or a store-bought solution. If you catch the mold early, you might be able to kill it by applying vinegar and letting it sit for 15 minutes before wiping the solution off using a sponge or rag. If at-home products don’t work, you can use sodium hypochlorite to remove mold.

Be sure to wear PPE during the cleaning process and dry the cabinets after you’ve finished cleaning them.

Deciding whether to use bleach or vinegar to eradicate mold on concrete is dependent on personal preferences, safety concerns, and the severity of the mold issue. Bleach is a powerful disinfectant that kills mold and its spores, but its strong fumes and potential health risks make it a more aggressive approach. It's generally a better option for handling outdoor concrete stains. White vinegar, however, is a safer and environmentally friendly option that can eliminate mold. Although it may take longer to show results, vinegar has a milder odor and is less likely to cause discoloration than bleach.

Frequently, fungi have a gray color with a powdery or fuzzy texture on a wall. In showers, fungi and mildew may resemble a pink slime. Meanwhile, toxic mold may resemble a fuzzy growth on walls that’s often black or green in color. Some toxic black mold will have specks of orange or white on it. However, not all dark-colored mold you find on a wall is toxic. An infestation of toxic mold often will spread faster than fungi on walls. If you are unsure whether you have toxic mold, reach out to a professional for help.
