"Robert was on-time, knowledgeable, and honest. Did a thorough inspection of chimney in my attic space, and made sure it was structurally sound. He did not recommend any further unnecessary work and gave me the peace of mind I was looking for. Rare. Would highly recommend his services to anyone."

"Jet from Neat Sweep was fantastic! She was punctual, friendly, and went above and beyond. We were struggling with a worsening odor, and she found and removed a dead squirrel from my boiler exhaust. Without being asked, she cleaned out the exhaust piping and then recommended to me the components that weren't salvageable, and how and where I could replace them. By the end of the night, my chimneys were clean, and my home smelled fresh once again. Thank you for your great service!"

"My chimney cap was damaged by wind, so I took a picture from the ground and went on the roof for measurements. I e-mailed a the picture to Chim Chimney and gave the the measurements. I was told there would be no charge for the visit, and they would bring several chimney caps on the truck. They arrived on time and after a quick trip to the roof, they gave me a price of $125 for parts and labor. I had them do the work, and they provided photos of the installed cap. The work was timely, reasonably priced, courteous and professional."

Chimney Sweep questions, answered by experts

Repairing a fire-damaged home could cost anywhere from $2,000 to $200,000 or more—it all depends on the extent of the damage and the quality of the materials you use. In most cases, your homeowner’s insurance company will cover the majority of the repairs. If you’re buying a home with fire damage, though, it’s best to get an estimate from a fire damage restoration company to estimate the repairs before closing.

Burning a single palm tree stump, if you’re careful, is technically doable DIY. However, you should always take precautions to control the fire and do research if you’re burning multiple types of trees.

Some trees, such as ornamental trees, black cherry, and some oak trees, release toxins into the air when burned that can be irritating to your lungs (or even dangerous) to breathe in.

Yes, most homeowners insurance policies cover fire damage and restoration, provided the fire was not set intentionally or caused by negligence. Accidental fires, such as those from electrical issues, cooking, or gas, are typically covered. Your policy will usually cover emergency services like roof tarping, the full cost of remediation and rebuilding, and may also cover alternative housing while your home is being restored. You will be responsible for paying your policy's deductible. It is important to check your policy details to see how coverage is calculated—it may be for the full replacement cost of damaged items or the actual cash value, which accounts for depreciation. To expedite your claim, contact your insurance company immediately and have all necessary documentation ready.

Yes, many HVAC professionals offer emergency repair services for furnaces and other heating systems. These services are especially common during the winter and colder seasons when functional heating is crucial.

Common issues discovered during a chimney inspection or cleaning include creosote buildup, cracked liners, structural degeneration or masonry degradation, and obstructions such as blocked flues or animal nests. These issues are potential safety hazards that can lead to combustion problems or poor air quality if not addressed.
