"JES Foundation Repair came out and looked at the basement, outside at the wall, and at the neighbors attaching wall and were really honest and said their services were really for much larger jobs than ours and even gave some recommendations for things we could do and pointed us to the likely source and didn't charge us anything for coming out. I would highly recommend."

"????? Bathroom Remodel Review I couldn?t be happier with the work done on my bathroom. What started as an old and unfinished space was completely transformed into a beautiful, modern bathroom. The team handled everything from demolition, framing, cement board installation, waterproofing, tile work, plumbing, and the final finishes. The new shower looks amazing with the glass doors and tile work, and the whole bathroom feels brand new. The attention to detail and quality of the work really shows. They were professional, reliable, and kept the workspace clean throughout the project. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a high-quality bathroom renovation. Thank you Ibarra Remodeling LLC for the amazing work! ?"

"Came home to a busted water line in the basement Wednesday, called that night and left message with a service. They returned my call the very next morning and came out promptly, fixed the issue quickly and cheaply. I have used this company many times before and have never been disappointed. Will use many times in the future.

"Hired Ed's drywall to finish a 13'x20' room in my basement. Ed and his crew are very knowledgeable, hardworking, and courteous. Right off the bat, Ed noticed that one of the walls that a different contractor framed was not lined up with the basement window. Ed fixed it in no time flat. His hangers were in and out in about 4 hours flat and did an excellent job. His finisher probably took about 8-10 hours over two days and also did an excellent job and the room was spic and span when he left. One thing that I have to mention is that the light in this room really varies (mostly dim) and it wasn't until the wife and I primed and put two coats of paint on the room (and the right light came in through the windows) that we noticed that you could see some of the joints. I don't blame the finisher at all. It really was the crazy lighting in the room that made the joints invisible 80% of the time. I sent Ed a text about the visible joints and within a day or two, he and his finisher returned and fixed the joints to perfection. On top of that, they repainted the walls and ceiling where they redid the seams!! You can't go wrong using Ed's drywall. Ed is a very personable and knowledgeable guy and he and his crew do A+++ work and they make sure it's done to your satisfaction!!"

Wall Repair questions, answered by experts

Yes, to build a retaining wall, a permit is required. Similarly, any repairs or modifications to an existing retaining wall require permits. If the planned wall measures higher than 4 feet, most municipalities require designs and permits come through a licensed engineer. In some locations, if the wall is shorter than 4 feet, a permit may not be required. For the requirements in your area, contact your local government.

Sand and gravel are two suitable options for filling behind a retaining wall. If you’re building your own retaining wall, you’ll complete this part of the process—known as backfilling—after you finish laying the blocks. Make sure not to skip it—otherwise, you could wind up with drainage issues, which can cause your retaining wall to collapse.

They prevent soil erosion, add flat space, and enhance property aesthetics.

Installation typically takes 1-2 weeks, depending on the wall’s size and site conditions.

Regular inspection for issues like cracks or leaning and ensuring drainage stays clear.
