"It was very easy to work with District Floor Depot. I had called 5 other companies to compare; the process was very cumbersome and complicated at the others and their products didn't seem that great. From start to finish, it was super easy with DFD - they were responsive, friendly, knowledgeable and explained the entire process. They came the very next day to take measurements and bring samples (very nice options to choose from) to my location and give me a quote. They were flexible in working with my building management on delivering and installing the wood floors, and in hauling away the old carpet. Their crew did a thorough job and the place looks incredible. Great product and great service!"

"Kevin is amazing! Kevin just deep-cleaned and deodorized the carpets in our three rooms, and the results are incredible. The carpets look, feel, and smell so much better than I expected. It's amazing what a difference a true professional can make! What really stood out was his customer service. He was kind enough to squeeze us in for an earlier appointment, arrived on time, worked efficiently, and clearly takes pride in his work. On top of that, he was friendly and easy to talk to--we even had a great conversation after he finished his job. The quality of the cleaning for the price is honestly unbeatable. It's rare to find someone who combines excellent workmanship, fair pricing, reliability, and such a positive attitude. If you're looking for carpet cleaning, stop searching and call Kevin. Your carpets will thank you! I can wholeheartedly recommend him and will definitely be using his services again. Highly recommended!"

"Awesome. Anthony responded immediately to our inquiry and scheduled an estimate for cleaning the basement carpet. He came out and did a thorough assessment of the work to be done, explained his process, and provided a fair estimate. The work was scheduled within just a few days. Excellent communication, regular updates. Anthony takes pride in his work and with good reason - our carpet looks new! He even freshened up our living room carpet at no extra charge. We are so happy and will contact Anthony from now on whenever we need carpet cleaning."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

It is not recommended to install or stretch a carpet without a power stretcher. Skipping essential tools like a power stretcher and a knee kicker will likely result in an improper installation, leaving you with wrinkles, creases, and an unappealing final look. While a knee kicker can provide some limited stretching for thinner carpets, it is not a proper substitute. Attempting to stretch a carpet by hand or with homemade tools can also shorten its lifespan. For the best results, you should buy or rent a stretcher. If you do not want to use a stretcher, it is better to hire a professional for the installation.

Carpet glue is very sticky, but it's not permanent. The glue usually lasts as long as a typical carpet installation, which is five to 15 years. For the best results, you should always use the right type of carpet glue for the area you're using it in. There are carpet glues for high-traffic areas, which are more high-quality and durable than others.

Avoid placing carpet in the bathroom or the kitchen. After all, moisture is no friend to carpeting. Beyond that, it’s down to personal preference. Some people dislike when a garage or basement features carpet, but others enjoy it.

You can save money on labor costs by removing your old carpet before the professionals come in to install the new carpet. Just make sure to clear it with your contractor ahead of time. You might also be able to cut costs by buying carpet at certain times of year when it’s less expensive. These periods include late December to mid-January and late spring to early summer.

Some flooring companies recycle old carpet after replacing it. The broader flooring industry has been moving toward recycling more carpet material. However, whether an individual carpet gets recycled is up to the flooring company that removes it. When gathering quotes for new flooring in your area, ask each company about removal options and what they do with the material.
