Dealing with Steve was wonderful. Very responsive, told me what and when to expect what. The installation went fine but there was a broken clip on my bed frame from when they moved it. Some seams are also a little more noticeable than I thought they would be after just a few months. They did give me the best price for the same carpet as their competitors.

Shopping around is always good advice, but you will be glad you chose Carpet & Vacuum Expo. Steve (Cabin John location) helped us find the perfect carpet for the lower level of our home which required balancing a number of different uses and problem areas. Installation was perfect and on time. The area was left spotless and the price was unbeatable. What more could I ask?

It went great! Mike Zanville was a pleasure to work with. He answered all of our many questions and let us borrow samples to take home. Sydney measured the area of work but also the entire house should we need carpet, etc down the road. Sydney was wonderful. The skilled technicians were outstanding. They were prompt, professional, and efficient with their time - got the job done in one day. We're so pleased with the outcome and appreciated all the comments/advice Mike offered us in the process. A+ rating, would definitely use this company again!

We met with Steve at the Potomac store and explained to him what we would like done in the basement. He was very nice and knowledgeable. He listened to us and from the beginning was focused on trying to help us find the most cost effective solution to our flooring needs. I had received a previous bid from Home Depot so had an idea of what this might cost. Steve's bid was better and in addition we received personal service. Three installers came to our home on time, quickly removed the carpeting from the 3 rooms and put down the new flooring all within a day. The floor was installed perfectly and looks wonderful. They also have a payment plan available to finance. It shows that it really pays to support small, local businesses. Will definitely use again in the future.

Carpet and Vacuum Expo of Olney did an excellent job of replacing carpeting for my daughter and son-in-law. They highly recommended them to do my flooring job. I worked with Mike at the company from start to finish. The customer service was outstanding. He followed up every step of the way to make sure that I knew when and how the job would be performed. As always they did a great job. The installers were on time, worked efficiently, and left the place looking clean and great. No marks to the walls or baseboard. We had a similar experience with a tile install on our kitchen floor several years ago. The crew was courteous and the work was great. We've have gotten carpet at least three times and tile once, and never did they try to upsell is to something we didn't need - they worked to find the right product, not the most expensive one.

We wanted to install wall-to-wall carpet in our family room. Steve Shaffer in the Potomac location was very helpful in our initial discussion, recommending carpet options that were affordable but nice (we're preparing our house for sale). His estimator came out two days later and was on time, efficient, and pleasant to talk to. When the day came for the installation, the crew showed up right on time, was very professional, and worked very efficiently to remove old remnant carpet and pad and install new wall-to-wall berber carpet. We are very pleased with the result and would recommend them to others.

This company is owner-operated.  As a result, the person you deal with is much more invested in ensuring that you are a satisfied customer than in other, larger chain operations (e.g. HD).  He is friendly and very helpful in discussing options and trying to minimize cost.  The installation crew has worked for him for many years and is also excellent. They showed up on time, worked professionally, and left the room neat and clean.  Most importantly, the installed carpet looks great.

Great experience. They beat the other bid we got hands down and everything went as smoothly as possible. Really great experience! We purchased Mohawk smart strand silk from team at Potomac store and we love it. Showed up right at closing one night and he helped us pick out a few options to take home. They came 2 days later to measure and provide estimate then installed a week or so later. Guys were on time and didn't leave a mess behind.

We worked with Mike and his team from the Olney store.  In November of last year they replaced the carpet in our finished basement area, which included a large rec area, bedroom and stairs.  This included removing and hauling away our old carpet.  The work was completed in one day.  We were happy with the results, so we hired them again to replace the ceramic tile floor in our kitchen and laundry area.  This was a much larger job and took seven days.  We are thrilled with our new floor!
I highly recommend this company.  Their responsiveness and professionalism were top-notch.  I wish every service provider which I work with had this type of customer service!  Working with Mike to schedule the job was very easy.   Saeed and his installation crew were punctual, polite and hard working. While the work was being done, Mike called every day to give me a progress update and see if I had any concerns.  The removal of the old ceramic tile was much harder than anticipated, but the team got it done and worked through the weekend to finish the job.  Saeed patiently answered my questions about the tile layout and provided some good suggestions which we took.  He did a dry layout of a small area for me to approve.  Knowing my concerns, they sealed off the work area with plastic to try to minimize dust in the rest of the house.  Tile installation was very meticulous and high quality.  Customer service after the job was amazing.  The dark charcoal grout dried with a white haze and was therefore not uniform in color.  Mike was very responsive when I called him about this three weeks later.  He contacted the grout manufacturer and came up with a plan to stain the grout after it cured.  He even agreed to come by and try the staining in a small area to be sure we liked it.  Saeed completed all of the grout staining and sealing last week, and the result is amazing.  The grout is a uniform charcoal color just as we wanted.  We couldn't be happier.  We will definitely use this company again in the future.

Mike Zanville runs a first-class operation from the Olney store.  I bought Mowhawk hardwood for all of my first and second story floors.  The work took 4 days to complete.  The installation crew was excellent, paying good attention to the things that a homeowner cares about -- not messing up walls or furniture, and getting the furniture back into place with felt pads on all legs (which I supplied).  The product seems to be good quality, and it's very attractive.  Mike manages the process well and is very responsive to concerns.  In the past, I used this store for carpeting.  I highly recommend them.

I cannot recommend Carpet and Vacuum Expo more highly and would definitely use them again.  Steve was very patient, as it took us a long time and several samples to choose a carpet.

I dealt with Steve in the store at Cabin John. I specifically wanted only Green Certified padding and carpeting and he showed me the most economical choice. He came the next day to check my measurements. I gave him a check for one half of the job. The installers came exactly on time 8 days later. They removed the heavy furniture and even saved the old carpet for me to use in my garage. The installers Edwin and Jose knew exactly what they were doing. They were very careful with moving the furniture and asked if it was OK to store it in the hallway. They were done in less than one hour! The carpet was vacuumed and they swept and there was no evidence of their work except a lovely new carpet in my guest room. I originally thought the price for this job was high. But, all things considered, it was well worth it to deal with a firm that did exactly what I needed, provided Carpet and Rug Institute Green Certified carpeting, on time and professionally. I will recommend them to everyone I know without reservation.

Carpet and Vacuum Expo was responsive.  We had several estimates for this job.  Carpet and Vacuum Expo was the one company which told us upfront that the subfloor needed to be replaced and included this cost in their estimate--no surprises!  They were willing to negotiate a bit on price.  Once the job was scheduled, they arrived promptly, worked hard, and cleaned up thoroughly.  They did professional work, and our beautiful new floor was completely installed in 1.5 days. 

Even though I live in Olney, I first went to the Vacuum and Carpet Expo in Potomac since Steve had such wonderful reviews on Angie's List.  He suggested that they send someone out to measure and he called Mike at the Olney location, who sent someone over same day.  After asking me a few questions (children, pets, etc.), Shaw's Sandy Hollow was recommended.  I selected the Sandy Hollow III (best) and, for warranty purposes, got the manufacturer recommended 8-pound padding.  When it came time for the install, the two-person team arrived on time, were friendly, and hardworking.  They did a nice job.  I would have rated an "A' for "quality" if they would have vacuumed after taking up the old carpet/padding and installing the new, and if they would have covered their shoes to help protect the newly-installed carpet as they went along including in/out of the house.  Covering my hardwood floors in the entryway would have also been appreciated.  Lastly, I wish that Mike would have forewarned that the carpet, even though it's a textured plush, shows the entire outline of one's footsies including each and every toe.  My upstairs could now pass for a replica of Grauman's Chinese Theater.  When Mike called the next day to check in and make sure everything was okay, I told him I was disappointed with my carpet looking like wet cement that has been walked on, he told me that it could be replaced within 30 days (Shaw guarantee) free of charge, and that I would just have to pay the Carpet and Vacuum Expo for labor.  I've opted to live with it though.  I would just recommend that a salesperson warn their clients of things like this, as we are not the experts and might not know or think to ask.  I would recommend Carpet and Vacuum Expo with the premise that you keep these few concerns in mind which can easily be avoided if discussed in advance.

The time spent picking out the carpet went smoothly and the installation  was performed on time by professionals.  The results are fine.

Mike helped me find the right carpet for the room.  His estimate of the date the carpet would arrive was accurate.  Installation was professional.  Afterwards i noticed that the closet door had not been re-hung properly.  I called, and someone returned to fix it first thing the next morning.   I will use this company again.

Steve at the Potomac, Maryland location was wonderful to work with!  He worked with me to obtain samples of flooring he did not normally have in the store and he arranged for installation with wonderful follow-up.  The installers also were very professional, hardworking, respectful and clean.  I note that there is a wide selection of flooring in the store, we were just looking for something very specific.

I really liked this company from start to finish.  Mike was very understanding of our needs and was responsive to all concerns and questions.  His workers were excellent - they worked hard and they were careful of everything in the house.  They cleaned after themselves every day.  I especially am grateful for the advice Julio gave regarding the dining room.  We were orignially going to carpet that but he was honest about how that might not look the best and that they could put in new hardwood floors and get a much better result.  This was an addition to the house that was not hardwood and was built even to the original hardwood which would require a 3/4 " step up.  He also convinced us to refinish the hardwood in the hall even though it needed quite a bit of board replacement.  The results are fantastic and I am grateful that he spoke up.  The crew and owner were professional at all times and I would definately use them again
