"Jack and his brother did a very efficient repair and paint job inside my house. They came on time, were very thorough, put drapes everywhere to protect what needed to be protected, and left no mess. I would highly recommend them."

"What a dynamic father and son duo! I highly recommend Town Painting and will always call them again for any future needs. I had cabinets that needed repair and refinishing and now look like new. I also needed painting throughout my house and enhancement of a feature wall. My feature wall looks amazing as well as the other painted areas. The meticulous attention to detail, professionalism and quality of work delivered are top notch!"

"It took awhile to get started because in this area building materials are not readily available. Once the materials were secured, they got to work and worked every day until it was finished. I saw one little spot that I thought needed a second coat. No argument, they sent someone to fix it the next day. They were fast and friendly, and I will hire them again."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Yes, it's a good idea to sand the wall with fine-grit sandpaper after spackling, especially if you plan on painting. You can do this by hand or using a sander, but the idea is to ensure the spackle is flush with the wall. Sanding will give your wall a smooth, uniform finish and help your paint and wallpaper stay put.

It’s important to make sure the wood on a new deck is properly seasoned. Seasoning a deck is simple: Once you build it (or have a pro do so), just leave it alone so it can acclimate to the environment. If you don’t give the deck proper seasoning time before staining, the stain can lock in any lingering moisture and cause mold, rot, and other moisture issues down the road. Give the wood at least four to eight weeks to season before you stain.

Here's the deal with leaving used rags covered in oil-based stain lying around in a pile: Depending on the conditions, these rags can take just an hour or up to a few days to combust. The source of ignition is caused by trapped heat that can be compounded if the rags are near a heat source.

When choosing between deck stain or paint, knowing what will last longer is important. Deck paint lasts longer than deck stain. With deck paint, you can get up to 10 years of coverage before you need to reapply. With deck stain, that time is significantly shorter at two to three years

No, it is not okay to paint over rotted wood. Painting over rotted wood will not address the underlying issue and can trap moisture, leading to further decay. Properly addressing the rotted wood by removing and replacing or repairing the damaged areas is necessary before you can even consider painting.
