"Shout out to Frank for more beautiful floor work. Our kitchen keeps getting better and better! Take a look at this tile. Wish we had found Cransten earlier, but we WILL be coming back to them."

"Zavala’s was the best stone/tile expert I’ve ever seen. He was professional from the very start. He was dependable, great to work with, did a lot of extra work from last minute requests and very friendly. Our project required 2 x 4 foot heavy porcelain sheets, mounted ten feet high. He did intricate work on windows, floor, and walls. He comes VERY highly recommended."

"I'd not been happy with the look of my Granite Kitchen counter top from some time.
I wanted to see the "luster" that had so impressed me when the kitchen was new.
Kathy at Young Tile told me about a couple of products she uses with her clients.
Stone Pro's "Crystal Cleaner" and "Finishing Touch Cleaner and Polish".
I'm happy to say my counter top looks new!
I thank Kathy for helping me "restore" the look inexpensively, and not trying to sell me an more expensive "refinishing" job.
I happily encourage the use of these cleaners.

"10/10. Will definitely work with Utah Flooring and Design again! Jack was the first person that we reached out to for a bid that actually showed up when he said he was going to show up to give us a bid. Not only did he show up, but we had a bid before he left the house. As part of their service you receive very clear communications - estimates, work orders / change orders, notifications and reminders for appointments / scheduling, etc. Every person that was assigned to our job from delivery to demo to install showed up on time and left our home (a.k.a. a total construction zone) cleaned-up after each day. Both Achilles, who did the tile and Pedro, who did the wood flooring were total pros and did high-quality work. Looking forward to working with them again when we get around to remodeling the bathrooms!"

"A+++!! Kathy installed a new slate mosaic back splash in my kitchen. From the our first phone conversation to the finishing touches, Kathy was professional, communicative, and a joy to work with. She went out of her way to keep in touch via the phone and personally coming to my house to drop off samples I might use. Since I wasn't sure about the design or the materials, Kathy exuded patience with me while letting me know my options. The finished product looks amazing! Kathy's attention to detail is her greatest strength. First class work! Give Kathy a call for your tile needs!"

"We hired Richard and his crew for a full bathroom remodel and had a great experience from start to finish. Richard was professional, easy to communicate with, and very detail oriented. He took the time to explain the process, timeline, and options so we knew exactly what to expect. The quality of the work really stood out. The custom vanity, tile work, and overall finish turned out better than we had imagined. Everything feels solid and well built, and the space is both more functional and much more modern. He stayed organized, kept the project moving, and was respectful of our home throughout the process. It can be stressful having construction in your house, but he made it as smooth as possible. We’ve already had friends and family comment on how good the bathroom looks, and we would absolutely hire them again for future remodeling projects."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

The lifespan of tile flooring can vary significantly based on the material and maintenance. Generally, tile flooring can last anywhere from 10 to 30 years, but high-quality, well-maintained ceramic tile can last 75 to 100 years. To achieve a longer lifespan, you should clean the tiles and grout regularly, reseal the grout annually, keep the floor dry, and avoid placing extremely heavy items on it to prevent cracking. Choosing a high-quality tile (Grade 1) will also contribute to its longevity.

Using caulk is one of the simplest and most recommended methods to finish glass tile edges. It creates an elegant seam between the glass tile and the adjacent area, along with a waterproof seal. With this method, you want to use a caulk color that matches the grout and, along with the grout, compliments the tile. Make sure the caulk line is smooth and even. Alternatively, you can use a bullnose or tile trimming to edge, however, that will also require caulk to seal.

As long as you follow the instructions on your peel-and-stick tile packaging, it should not damage your walls. A possible instance when you may accidentally damage your walls is if you install tiles improperly using additional adhesives that aren’t recommended.

Also, you can damage your walls if you’re not careful when removing tile. For example, you could accidentally make holes in the drywall with a paint scraper if you don’t heat the adhesive long enough before trying to pry it off.

If you’re handling your tile removal yourself, seal the room using painter’s tape and heavy-duty contractor bags to prevent dust and shards from escaping. Use a claw hammer or a pry bar and a mallet to get behind the tile and pry it away from the floor or wall. Once your tiles are all removed, sweep everything into contractor bags for disposal, being careful not to overfill them. Make sure you wear a dust mask, safety goggles, and work gloves to keep yourself safe from injury while you work.

While tile is the best option in the bathtub, don’t forget to consider the flooring around the wash station. Moisture-holding carpet is a no-no, but is tile or vinyl better for dogs? Tile flooring is tough, moisture-resistant, cool, and scratch-proof. However, it’s more tricky to install and costs more than vinyl flooring. If you opt for vinyl, select tough luxury vinyl flooring; otherwise, canine claws could quickly damage the surface of standard, budget vinyl.
