"The crew was great to work with explaining what the process was going to be and what was expected of us as homeowners. They were respectful and came and went when doing the job. We had them do our entry and hall and kitchen and we had a border on the outside of our front room that did NOT need to be done but they matched the merger with the new refurbished floor PERFECTLY. I will definitely recommend this company and pricing was great."

"Absolutely outstanding service! From start to finish, this flooring company delivered top-tier professionalism and craftsmanship. Daniel showed up on time, communicated clearly, and treated my home with care. The hardwood refinishing came out flawless — the floors look brand new and even better than I imagined. You can tell he takes real pride in his work. He worked efficiently, never canceled, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. If you need hardwood refinishing or installation, look no further. Highly recommend!"

Customers say: True professional

"Absolutely incredible! They fingered new red oak planks to extend my current floors for a project, then sanded and refinished the room. They did an outstanding job, and amazing for the price. I HIGHLY recommend."

"Guillermo and his crew of 3 (including his daughter) were very responsive, letting me know when they were coming and when they left for the day. He was slightly more expensive than other bids I received, but I hired him because he seemed the most professional. He was very careful to avoid messes and and even was able, with power washing to get those unsightly and impossible-to-remove ivy roots off a brick wall prior to painting it."

"JR and Home Pros did a great job stretching our carpet, and showed that they are professionals who truly care! Unfortunately, and because of no fault of JR (a previous repair done incorrectly made our wall weak), a wall was damaged while he was stretching the carpet. JR dropped everything he was doing and had the damage repaired within a day. He did quality work quickly (the wall actually looks better now than it did), and came through on every promise he made. Accidents can happen in any industry and it speaks volumes about a company as to how they are handledâ ¦JR handled it in the most professional and best way possible. Weâ ll definitely hire Home Pros again and continue to highly recommend them!"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

There are a couple of color options to consider when installing carpet in high-traffic areas (like entrances and stairways). Medium-toned colors and patterned carpets can work well in these parts of your home because dirt and stains can blend in easily. Dark carpets will also conceal marks and spills, but they show lint and other light-colored debris. Consider a medium brown or tan for your high-traffic areas. Either way, it’s best to avoid paler shades, like white and cream, which get dirty easily.

The life span of carpet in a home with children and animals depends on factors like the carpet material’s quality, how frequently you clean and maintain it, and the level of foot traffic. On average, carpets need to be replaced every five to 15 years. Signs of wear, matting, or persistent odors may indicate that it's time to contact a local flooring company to replace your carpet.

On average, installing carpet costs between $3 and $11 per square foot, depending on factors like the carpet material, style, and labor rates in your area. Sometimes, installers will include carpet removal in these costs, so if you don’t have any carpet to remove, you can save time and spend less money on labor.

Not every type of flooring is well suited to a wood stove. However, ceramic or stone tiles are good choices since they are durable, heat-resistant, and easy to clean. Softer flooring options, like carpet, could be damaged by the heat produced by a wood stove—or even create a fire hazard.

Yes, you can put rugs and carpet on heated floors. However, carpet is not the most efficient for heated floors. The carpet pad and pile can prevent the heat from penetrating into the room. Rugs may also prevent heat from reaching your feet. You will get the most from your heated floors if you use thin rugs so that a maximum amount of heat can penetrate the room. You may find you do not need rugs to warm a space, thanks to the radiant heat coming up through your feet.
