"The guys were amazing! Respectful, clean, and quick. They scraped out the entire backyard in two days, and laid sod in one. We've had this same company do tree removal and sprinkler work in the past. We'll always use SLC Landscaping."

"That Stump Guy was professional in his communication. He was upfront about price and cheaper than all the other quotes I got. He removed two tree stumps in my yard. He got the job done quickly AND cleaned up after himself. He had a lot of good advice about trees in my yard, even answering some questions about tree planting and pruning since he has several years of experience as an arborist, although he only does stump removal now. I would recommend him to family and friends."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Professionals ensure safety, prevent property damage, and handle debris efficiently.

The lifespan of a bird's nest depends on the species. The building process can take from two days to three weeks. Once built, the nesting period for baby birds can last from two to ten weeks before they leave the nest. While most young birds are ready in two to six weeks, some predatory species may need up to two and a half months. Some species nest four to five times per year, so a nest could remain in use for several months. For specific information about a particular nest's longevity, it is best to consult a wildlife professional.

It could be anywhere from weeks to years for a dead tree to fall. A dead tree falls based on its weight, how it leans, the state of its roots, the state of decay, and what local windstorms are like, among other factors. Since it’s hard to predict the fall’s timing, it’s important to cut down a dead tree quickly and avoid any unpleasant surprises.

Tree roots don’t necessarily break through concrete on their own, but they can certainly take advantage of existing cracks, even very small ones. As roots grow, they expand the cracks, making them larger and leading to serious and costly foundation damage. It’s a good idea to have repairs on any foundation cracks you’re concerned about.

After a big storm, you may not be sure if a tree was struck or not. Look for the telltale long scars, like strips or gouges in the bark of the tree, running in sometimes jagged lines down the length of the trunk. These scars will often show vulnerable living wood inside the tree. It’s also common to see scorched or wilted leaves on the side or top of the tree where lightning struck.
