Customers say: Quick response

"Aegis response was absolutely great. Technician was at our home to repair our system within 1 hour. Unfortunately Tech was not able to repair/replace front door contact and we had to settle for a wireless contact which is a bit unsightly. Otherwise great response!!"

"The quality of the equipment, packaging, and overall system was definitely top notch upon receiving it and getting it up and going. Install took less than and hour for over 10 sensors including smoke/fire and glass break. I opted to negotiate the upgraded touch screen Qolsys panel instead of the motion sensors and the price was the same which is always nice to be able to do. Full control over everything along with real time viewing of sensor status and the ability to control most any type of home automation equipment-- even 3rd party. Standard monitoring is $34.99/month and the home automation part adds in another $10, making it $45/month. I didn't think I would want this, but being able to control all aspects of the alarm from any computer or your phone makes it very useful. I can deactivate the alarm before unlocking the door and setup tons of rules to get messages, emails, or any type of alert for any number of events. As far as customer service, they seem to be on top of it. I had a problem with the system not updating its status, and they dug in deep to make sure everything was working. So the tech support is definitely there which is what you want with any sort of DIY type system. Although the sales person was very helpful and willing to work out a full custom package, they were a bit on the urgent side of making the sale in general. Not a problem as I understand that is their job, but I made my decision on wanting to go with Frontpoint before even calling and told them this. I didn't need to be pushed to make the decision. The biggest turn off is the contract... 3 years is a bit much in my opinion. I did not like this but know that I will for sure have it for that long and will always want the security. They are apparently really great with moves though. Overall, I highly recommend Frontpoint. Negotiate the system you want, and at the Angies list price of $199, even with the $45/month monitoring, it is by far the best deal out there considering the high quality GE equipment and very thorough and simple design, setup, and support offered."

Home Automation questions, answered by experts

Professional home staging services can vary between companies and properties, but the primary goal is to set up a house with aesthetic furniture and decor to entice potential buyers. Many stagers offer customizable packages, and you can often pay for additional services. Common offerings include:

  • Design and Planning: Color design, planning each room's layout, and professional interior design services.

  • Furniture and Decor: Choosing and renting furniture, decor, and artwork. This also includes the setup and takedown of all rented materials.

  • Arrangement and Organization: Rearranging existing furniture, decluttering, and organizing the space.

  • Ambiance: Creating a welcoming atmosphere with strategic lighting and accessories.

  • Repairs and Maintenance: Minor repairs, home maintenance, and addressing visible issues.

  • Curb Appeal: Improving the home's exterior with services like painting and garden bed management.

It's best to connect with a professional home stager to see what’s included in their specific packages or to request a custom service.

You'll likely need more than great home staging to sell your home. Now is a great time to get to work on the curb appeal of your home . Hire local exterior painters and landscapers to coat the exterior of your home and bring it new life with some sprucing up.

The average cost to stage a home is around $1,800, with most sellers paying between $800 and $2,800 for professional services. However, the total cost can vary significantly, ranging from $500-$600 for an initial consultation to $5,000 or more for comprehensive, full-home staging.

The final price depends on several factors, including the home's size, location, and condition, as well as the number of rooms being staged. Other key cost drivers include whether you need to rent furniture, the quality of the decor, the stager's experience, and the duration of the staging services. The scope of the project also plays a role, from virtual staging and simple decluttering to full-service design, which may involve repairs and maintenance.

While LVP won’t increase home value as much as engineered hardwood, it can increase the value somewhat because it creates a warm and inviting aesthetic. It’s also durable and waterproof, so it can be appealing to homebuyers with pets and children. LVP is very low-maintenance, so that can also appeal to homebuyers who don’t want to spend a lot of time keeping up with an engineered or solid hardwood floor.

Most staging projects take 2-5 days, including furniture arrangement, décor placement, and touch-ups.
