"Show plumbing has really good and professional team, they are always on time and always always double check with your schedule. The job was well done and efficient. The technician is very honest and advised me not to “waste” money on additional tiny things I would like to add to the work. They are very good with my dog too… lol I would also like to say thanks to the receptionist Jessica, she is so sweet and very professional. She always check customer’s schedule and assign the team to work with your schedule. They do understand how important is the time. Very good team and very good people."

"This was my first time to call on and use Show Plumbing. I was very impressed and pleased. Willie came to my house and showed a good understanding of what I needed done. I had four (actually five, but the fifth item turned out to be nothing) problems and all were fixed. What I liked best about Willie and Show Plumbing was that there was no sales pressure or insistence on additional work. Willie came to fix what I wanted and that was that! I really appreciated that and felt respected as a customer as a result. The work in this case was not emergency work, but I would feel confident in calling Show Plumbing as needed in the future for any work whether urgent or non-urgent. The price I was charged seemed reasonable as well. It was not "cheap" but definitely in the ballpark of what I was expecting. Janice at the office kept me updated on Willie's arrival time (he came a second day to install toilets) and in both cases it was well within the original windows."

"Our technician, Steve, was very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. I was sent an email with his name and picture before he arrived so I knew who to expect and it was after 9pm when I called so that was important. I highly recommend JD Precision Plumbing."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

While technically possible, it is unlikely that a clogged toilet will fix itself. Clogs caused by water-soluble materials like toilet paper or human waste may eventually break down in the water, allowing flow to resume. However, this can take time, and any clogs from solid objects require manual removal. In most scenarios, especially if you don't have another bathroom, it is best to fix the clog yourself or call a plumber.

Many plumbers include removing and disposing of the old toilet as part of their service package. However, it’s best to ask before signing a contract, as removal isn’t guaranteed. If the plumber doesn’t take the old toilet, you have several options, including donation, recycling, junk removal, and bulk waste services..

Generally, toilet leaking is not an emergency unless the leakage is severe. However, any leakage at the bottom should be addressed as soon as possible because it could lead to water damage to the floors, under the tiles, or into the walls. Leaks at the bottom can also lead to mold growth if unaddressed.

The cost of making a bathroom accessible can be $3,000 to $25,000, but you could spend as much as $50,000 building a brand-new ADA-compliant bathroom. Some bathroom accessibility upgrades to consider include:

  • Installing grab bars: $100–$500

  • Lowering cabinets and vanities: $1,200–$2,500

  • Installing modified doors: $700–$1,500

  • Installing a modified toilet: $400–$1,000

  • Installing an accessible sink and faucet: $100–$1,000

  • Adding a walk-in tub: $1,100–$17,000

  • Converting a bathtub into a walk-in tub: $350–$1,000

  • Installing a wheelchair-accessible shower: $2,000–$7,500

  • Installing a shower ramp: $16–$300

The cost to install a new toilet typically runs from $225 to $530. This doesn’t include the price of the toilet itself, which can cost $90 to $1,500 depending on the model and features you choose. You can save money if you choose to install a toilet yourself. However, you might want to hire a pro for this project.

"Due to the many complexities of replacing a toilet flange, it is typically a job best left to the pros," says Jeff Botelho, Angi Expert Review Board member and plumber. "Many times it isn't as simple and straightforward as 'pop off the old one and pop on a new one' because the flange is either glued on (PVC/ABS), soldered on (brass/copper), or caulked in place with a lead & oakum joint (cast iron) and none of these things can be easily reversed without years of training and repetitive practice."
