"I had an excellent experience with Gayle Floors. Mark and Gayle went above and beyond to re-floor my new home in just 2 days, were very transparent in terms of all the issues discovered in the process, and presented different alternatives / quotes and walked me through them in detail to make an informed decision. The price was fair for the quality, expertise, knowledge and professionalism provided. Excellent communication skills and updates every step of the way. Mark and his crew did an exceptional flooring job and also fixed multiple things they encountered - and even provided me with a list of other issues they spotted (outside of flooring) so that I can tackle those as well. I’m very pleased with their service and would 100% recommend Gayle Floors!"

"The 3 day process went seamlessly from the purchasing process through out the installation. The entire team was very professional. The installers were very conscientious about respecting the space they were working in, protecting areas with drop cloths for floors or counters depending where they were working. I was also very impressed with their cleanup after each installation. Great work!"

"Julie was VERY prompt in coming to our home to give us an estimate. She brought ceramic tile for us to choose from and we really liked one of the samples. We had spare hardwood to use in the family room area. Alex, our installer, called every day he came out to tell us exactly when he would arrive. He worked efficiently and did a beautiful install on both the ceramic tile and the hardwood. Alex also removed and reinstalled the vanity and toilet. We are very pleased with the finished job."

Small jobs welcome

"Mario’s team installed new tile flooring in the bathroom as well as a new tile wall backsplash for the tub area. The bathroom tile is flawless! The crew was respectful; music , noise, and machinery was kept at a low volume. The crew took direction well when we wanted to achieve certain results or features. The floors were protected each day and the entire work space was cleaned up each night."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

If you’re doing a full bathroom remodel, the flooring will go in before the vanity and any other bathroom cabinetry. This will ensure that the same floor is present across your whole bathroom should you ever tear out your vanity and start again.

If you can only budget for one or the other, you can still replace just the vanity in your bathroom. Just keep in mind that if you decide to replace your flooring later, you’ll need to tear out the vanity to avoid having mismatched floors.

Some root cellars are made with concrete, but a dirt floor may be better for your crops' longevity. Dirt can help maintain an appropriate temperature and humidity level, while the concrete might suck up all the moisture. Dirt floors can also bring down the overall cost of your root cellar. But, if you’re going with a dirt floor, make sure you properly insulate between your house and the root cellar.

Professional installation ensures seamless fitting, extended carpet life, and compliance with workplace standards.

No, thick carpet padding isn’t necessarily better than thinner padding. The appropriate padding thickness will depend on the type of carpet and the amount of foot traffic in the area.

For example, thick padding works well in low-traffic areas, like bedrooms, where you have soft and plush carpeting. However, thick carpet padding can damage low-pile carpet, which is used in the busiest parts of your home (like hallways and entryways). For that reason, it’s best to use thinner, heavier padding underneath carpet in high-traffic areas.

Yes, you can mop hardwood floors with a damp flat or string mop as long as it is not soaking wet. Always avoid leaving standing water or fully soaking your hardwood floors, even if they are properly finished. A slightly wet mop, with or without cleaning solutions, will not damage the wood.
