"After seeing the work Ideal Siding did on my neighbor's house, we decided to hire them too. Oscar was dedicated, hardworking, and very skilled. Despite finding some water damage under our old siding, he was able to repair it quickly. We are very happy with the results and have received many compliments. We wholeheartedly recommend Ideal Siding."

"Great experience from start to finish. Prompt estimate of work. Crew was here bright and early every day, and worked diligently the entire day. Steve visited several times to check on progress. They caulked all seams in our board and batten siding and painted everything (siding, eaves, gutters) meticulously. They also painted the inside of my garage, helped me move the heavy stuff to the center and then move it back. The paint is absolutely perfect-razor edge corners, great coverage on all surfaces (far superior to what our builder did). I will definitely use Proline again for my interior painting. Look no further…you’ve found the painters you want!"

"M & M Roofing, siding & windows replaced the builders’ grade pressed paper with James Hardie siding. It was painted and sealed. They added 6” gutters with leaf blaster plus screens. The crew that did the Hardie siding did a beautiful job. They were meticulous in their installation and cleanup. The painters that came in behind the siding crew did a wonderful job. There were no overruns and they matched our colors exactly. The gutter crew came in after the roof was replaced and were finished in a few hours. Gutters look great and were put in professionally. All crews did a great job cleaning up. Mike recommended two other craftsmen to replace the chimney cap and tile on the front porch. Both jobs were done very professionally and were reasonably priced. Thank you, Mike, for a job well done."

"I am writing to share my positive experience with Armando and his crew. They did an excellent job replacing rotten wood with Hardie planks and provided helpful recommendations to correct repairs left by a previous contractor's poor workmanship. I would highly recommend their professionalism for any roof or siding repairs. They are truly a five-star company."

"Excellent service: hired Nexlevel to replace rotten siding and needed that done promptly due to otherwise cancellation of my home insurance. The quality on the job was outstanding! The siding matched in both, the wood surface and color, impossible to see the difference next to the old siding, which is 30 years old. Highly recommend Nexlevel to any of your roofing or siding projects!"

Siding questions, answered by experts

While homeowners' insurance can include coverage for siding, general wear and tear of siding is not covered. If your siding is rotting—especially because you haven’t kept up with proper siding maintenance—replacement siding will likely not be covered by your homeowners' insurance policy. Instead, insurance generally covers siding repair or replacement if your siding has been damaged by extreme weather, vandalism, fire, or some kind of collision, like by a vehicle.

Regular washing and quick repair of damaged areas to maintain appearance.

The telltale signs that your home is ready for repointing include visibly damaged bricks, crumbling bricks, flaking bricks, loose mortar, cracked mortar, gaps between brick and mortar, leaking inside your home, and visible water damage. Consider repointing when going over brick house pros and cons if you're buying a new home. Repointing is also a good idea if you plan to paint, acid wash, or stain your brick home, as it will give you a good base for coloration and prevent repairs after the work is done.

Brick and stone are the most durable and longest-lasting siding materials, often lasting for 100 years or more with proper maintenance. Copper is another material known to last over 100 years, though it can develop a greenish patina over time. Zinc is a metal siding that can last 80-100 years. While these options are the most expensive, they offer superior value and longevity. For a more affordable yet durable choice, stucco can last 50 to 80 years in dry climates. Fiber cement siding is another excellent middle ground, offering a lifespan of 50 years or more with low maintenance at a lower cost than stone or brick.

Bleach can be an option if you want to kill mold and mildew clinging to your siding. However, you must water bleach down to the right concentration of a 1/2 cup of bleach per gallon of water to avoid damaging your siding. Bleach can also harm plants in your yard and isn’t safe to use near pets, so employ it with caution.

Local pressure washing services often offer non-bleach options that can powerfully remove mold and mildew.
