"Matt and team were wonderful. I have an older home with skylights that were leaking when the weather changed. Older home can sometimes be challenging to troubleshoot but the entire team at Freelite was committed to fixing the issue. I love my Freelite Skylights and would absolutely call Freelite on any skylight issues in the future."

"The wind ow was measured and installed in about a week.I only saw one person for about five minutes when he came to measure.I was waiting on a call to schedule installation and when I got home the window was in.clean up was good.I did mention to the person that measured the window that I would like to replace all the windows at some time but there was no follow up to that.I was pleased with the work done.

"We had to go through a process of preparing architectural drawings and given we were fussy about the design that took a few iterations. Then we had to have the drawings approved and the project blkessed by the community design committee. This all took time, and by the time we were ready to go, Blante was at the height of his work season. However, he set a date to begin and a target date for completion (which was important to us as we we lgoing to Canada to the summer place for a few weeks.) and began the project.
Blante and his crew were there when they said they would be , even though he was juggling projects, materials and manpower. If there was to be a delay or a change he would let us know. Along the way, we made a number of design changes , more "tweaking" than anything ,but Blante was always prepared to take what we asked, offer his thoughts, and then execute as agreed.
We had some weather and resource delays, so we didnt leave the country as planned, although we had built in some buffer on the tme frame so we were fine leaving a couple of weeks later. By that time the project was 97% done and Blante came back upon our return in August to complete the punch list and settle up.
Blante communicated well throughout the project as and when issues arose . He delivered a good crew and finished on budget. AND, the result was spectacular - we have had many people complimanet us on the design and the quality.
We will not hesitate to use Blante's services again for other outdoor projects. Well done!!

Skylights questions, answered by experts

The most popular treatment for a skylight is skylight shades. There are five primary types: manual, motorized, blackout, cellular//honeycomb, and Venetian. Motorized skylight shades are the most convenient, especially for skylights that are higher up, but manual shades are the most cost-effective treatments. Cellular/honeycomb shades are a perfect option for anyone who wants energy efficiency and an attractive look.

Yes, you can cover up a skylight if you no longer wish to have it in your space. There are a few options for covering up a skylight. One option is to install a skylight cover or shade that can be easily opened or closed as needed, allowing you to control the amount of light entering the room. Another option is to cover the skylight with a solid material, such as plywood or drywall, effectively sealing it off. However, when covering a skylight, it's essential to ensure proper insulation and waterproofing to prevent any issues in the future.

Installation typically takes 1-2 days, depending on the required roof type and structural modifications.

This is based on personal preference, budget, and the vibe you are going for with your holiday lighting. If you are looking for the cheapest option, incandescent lights are a budget-friendly choice. You can also opt for sheets of lights that cover areas such as trees and bushes for easier installation.

The decision to remove a skylight depends on your specific circumstances and preferences. There are several reasons why you might consider removing a skylight, such as extensive damage, a desire for better insulation, or the need to change the room's layout. Additionally, if the skylight is causing leaks or other issues, it may be necessary to remove and replace it (which can incur additional skylight installation costs). It's important to assess your specific situation and consult with professionals if needed to make an informed decision.
