"Our countertops are 30 years old, and New Finish really made them look great. We loved how quickly the job was performed (two days), the cost, and the final result. We were a little worried about how it would look, but - for a budget that couldn't afford brand new - the result continues to impress me every time I look in our kitchen.

Heavy rust under the bathmat used to cover it
Good shape but very dated
Deep soaking tub but hard to step over sidewalls
Looks infinitely better and compliments the newer granite vanities. The customer wished she’d know about this before the new vanity installation!
Dated granite good condition

We had 3 bids all through Angie's List, one of the companies Granite Outlet II that  we had used before. The other two bids were from Solid Stone Fab. and KAT Fab

Most of the bids were similar, except all of the companies provided different prices for removal, sink cutout, plumbing for rehook-up of sink, and rehooking up stove top.

Granite Outlet II had a plumber in-house. Solid Stone had a recommendation for a plumber and KAT didn't provide a recommendation.

We kept our backslash and KAT was the only company that had an issue with cutting it down if needed. And it was cut to allow for the quartz.

We chose Solid Stone Fabricators because we trusted Claudia to do a good job for us. She was very attuned to our needs and anytime we asked her a question if she didn't already know it she got right back with us. She took good notes and made sure we were getting exactly what we wanted. She was very professional and a pleasure to work with. We went to see the where the countertops were fabricated at Solid Stone and we also went to Cambria Quartz in Carrollton and looked at the Quartz we wanted and received large samples there.

They came out and measured and showed up on time, then we scheduled for the install.

The installers showed up at their scheduled time and finished in less then 5 hours. The next morning the plumber came and hooked the sink and stove back up.

Claudia came out a few days later and bought us our extra quartz. its VERY heavy but we wanted to keep it and they also made us a cutting board.

I LOVE MY COUNTERTOPS AND NEW GRANITE SINK!

"We're in the process of getting our house ready to sell, and rather than spending a ton of money on new bathroom counter tops, we decided to have them refinished.  We had one double-sink, and one single-sink counter top, plus a built-in make-up table done.
When I called a competitor, it took them a long time to get back to me and when they did, they quoted a price that seemed way too high. So, I called this company and they gave me a quote that I considered to be much more reasonable.
The worker showed up on time on the day the work was scheduled. It took him approximately three hours to complete the job, and then he told us that it would be 24 hours before we could use the counter tops. He did a meticulous job in prepping the area, and I was impressed.
The final product is gorgeous! In fact, while he was here, we were having a lot of other work done, and the contractor and many of his workers were very impressed with how it turned out.
I'm extremely happy with the result, and would definitely recommend this company to others. Also, I appreciate the senior discount.

"Had great customer service and experience and the countertops turned out perfect. It’s been over 2 years and the countertops are in great condition. Side Note: they also did my bathroom and turned out great. Tile isn’t easy and the work is percise."

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

Several countertop materials are designed to require as little maintenance as possible. The most popular options for ease of use include laminate, stainless steel, and quartz. These options are nonporous, so they’re unlikely to stain or be affected by mold and bacteria. They’re also easy to wipe down and safe to use with various cleaning products.

The best way to save money on countertop installation is to choose an affordable material. For example, if you have a busy kitchen and need durability, choose a more affordable but lasting material like granite countertops. Likewise, if you don't use your countertops often, you can use a softer material that costs less than more sturdy ones.

Another way to cut costs is to remove and dispose of the existing countertops yourself, if possible. That way, countertop installers can get straight to placing the new feature, reducing labor costs.

Yes, you can install a farmhouse sink on an existing countertop—but there are some caveats. You’ll need to precisely measure. It’s best to choose a sink that’s the same dimensions as your existing sink, since your contractor won’t have to cut the countertop. Otherwise, pay close attention to the depth of your counter (the front to back measurement). You don’t want to install something that’s so big it sticks out beyond your countertop and cabinetry.

Yes, you can remove a countertop without breaking it. It is possible to save your countertop to use in your new kitchen, donate it, or sell it! You’ll just need to work carefully as you follow the removal steps above. If you’re not sure you can get the job done without causing a little damage, call in a pro for peace of mind.

Rounded countertop edges, like bullnose or eased edges, are the least likely to chip. Their smooth, curved design helps distribute impact more evenly, unlike sharp corners, which often take the brunt of a hit. Also, unlike pointed edges, rounded edges won't snag on material like dishcloths or clothing.
