"Ted called to set appointment for estimate and schedule work day. He called the day before to confirm and he called the day of as he was on his way. He was very good at returning phone calls, showing up when he said and taking the time that he said he would. I asked him what to do for preparation. He said take everything off the countertops. I did, but what I didn't realize was that he would cover all the cabinets underneath the countertops so I really wasn't prepared for the two days it took. It was a miscommunication, so I would tell everybody that Ted is a great craftsman, he is dependable and trustworthy. Just be prepared not to use your kitchen or bathrooms at all for about two days. Other than that, I would strongly recommend Ted."
Heavy rust under the bathmat used to cover it
Good shape but very dated
Deep soaking tub but hard to step over sidewalls
Looks infinitely better and compliments the newer granite vanities. The customer wished she’d know about this before the new vanity installation!
Dated granite good condition

"Stone masters provided great service from beginning to end.  They arrived when they said they would be there. They involved us with the various stages in order to get our approvals, they tore out our old bathroom including a half wall that separated the toilet and the tub from the two sinks.  This opened the bathroom up tremendously.  They tore out the old tile, removed the toilet, and countertop.  They were neat and tidy the whole way through, careful not to stir up dust and debris to other rooms.
Derek was very communicative and responsive when we had questions.  Walter was a very professional foreman on the job and pleasant to work with.  Stonemasters installed new granite countertops, sinks, new toilet, new tub, new tile on surround as well as on the floor, new paint, baseboards, and installed new fixtures, lighting, the whole thing.
It took about close to two weeks for completion.  They thought of all the details and we would use this company again for future remodeling jobs.
It's hard to find reliable, professional remodeling companies that take as much pride in their work than Derek and his team.  Being in the customer service industry, this goes a long way with me when choosing who to work with.  We are very happy of the results and proud of our new bathroom."

Stone Countertops questions, answered by experts

Undermount sinks have clips that attach to the countertop, but they have pros and cons. They are heavier than drop-in sinks, so they only work with sturdy countertops like natural stone and are a more expensive option. You might need someone to help you install the sink, depending on its weight.

Marble is a porous natural stone that needs sealant to minimize staining. Leaving this type of countertop material sealant-free means any liquids left on the surface will quickly absorb into the stone, discoloring it and dulling the sheen. Dark or acidic liquids, like red wine, coffee, and lemon, are the worst culprits.

Engineered stone is nonporous, unlike natural stone, and does not need to be sealed. You do not have to worry about etching or bacterial growth. It is more durable than natural stone and concrete, as well as highly heat resistant. Engineered stone is easy to clean and maintain. You can wipe it down with warm water and soap. Use a non-scratch scrub pad for stains and avoid any harsh cleaners. Engineered stone can even be eco-friendly, with some manufacturers using waste byproducts or organic resins.

Comparing engineered stone vs. natural stone countertops can help you figure out if one is better than the other for you. The answer depends on your preferences, needs, and budget. You might choose engineered stone if you are looking for something more cost effective and low maintenance, but it is hard to beat the beauty of natural stone counters. You may prefer their longer lifespan, the uniqueness of each slab, and their durability.

Your morning mug of coffee won’t instantly damage your quartz countertop, but it’s still wise to play it safe. While quartz can handle brief heat, repeated exposure can wear down its finish over time. Using a coaster adds a simple layer of protection and helps keep your surface looking fresh.
